Damage after "straight on" collision
I've noticed this a couple of times... If I crash very hard "straight on" to wall or other player there's practically no damage whatsoever?! But if I hit the wall a bit sideways all my cambers and stuff get damage. Is this normal, or have I got some setting wrong?
Damage isn't complete yet ... but when it is - boo yeah!!

Would love to see glowing brake discs, sparks, broken windscreens, smoke from broken engines and fire fire fire!!!

I think it would be nice if the engine stalled after a hard crash.
yeah sometimes the smallest crashed produce the funniest crashes and slamming head on into a wall at like 180 mph does nothing , damage will be cool eventually tho
It loooks like the damage problem has some problem : I noticed the same effect : when you hit the wall with no incidence, no damage affects the suspension. The more angle you have, the more damage (at leat on toe). Damage applies only to tyre/suspension and not to body. On a front crash, the suspension do not hit anything and are not damaged at all... Modeling a deformation on the body will be however much more difficult as a simple suspension pb... That's why we'll have to wait.
By the way, a damage affects not only geometry, but also other mechanical or organical part : i've never seen anyone driving with a nice V8 on the passenger seat. A good thing against wrecker in future will be heat damage : a front crash will usually destroy your "radiator" (what you use to exhaust heat from your motor) => 2 or 3 laps and temperature grows too much and the motor should blow... Intercooler are often in front of the car also : destroy it and you'll loose a great bunch of power on a turbo car IRL.

I'm really in a hurry to see a full damage model, but I'll have to learn how to drive before....

The side suspension damage was implemented first partially to prevent racers from riding walls and fences to better their lap times. We can expect the damage system to evolve as development continues. :bunny3: :turtle2:
