I read somewhere that to cause alot of smoke just before you start to drive you need to be in a rear wheel car and move the brake bias all the way to the front.
and i did it as far as it would go (95%)
and then when i tried to do a bunout no smoke would be produced.
i tried just driving off the line.
i tried braking whilst accelerating.
i tried handbraking while accelerating, but i cant seem to make any smoke.
someone help please
you do not have to raise the break bias all the way up to 95%, all you have to do is make the break pressure realistic more around 1200 or more.
Edit if the break pressure is not high enough then the car wont even be able to lock both wheels.
Here is a SPR where the breaks are at 75% front bias and a break force of 1300Nm.(i race with a bias of 75%, and my normal break pressure is usually at 1250 Nm) The tires I used where Road_Super
The bottom SPR is in the XRR with my normal racing setup with R2 tires. Breaks: 75% 1990 Nm per wheel.
yeah they are, i asked a bit further up on how to change it to 2 different axis but nobody would say so.
Accelerator and brake is axis RZ
how do i seperate the axis?
I think that the easiest way to make more smoke is to make a very short gears and RWD car like XRT or other,warm-up tyres to 100-120 degrees and drive with full throttle with brake
Btw:watch the cluth !!!
First you have to have an axis this is able to be set as separate, so it would be nice to know what it is you are using.
The only software I am familiar with for FFB wheels is the logitech wingman profiler,(the only wheels I've owned are: the Driving force Pro, and the G25) which use that program, so I might not be any help to you.
Hes not haveing problems with the setup just the Throttle and Break Axis.
I have the formula force EX
it has something called a logitech profiler, not called wingman
and i had a look in the axi settings for the accelerator and brakes, and you cant select which one they go to.
edit:try telling me what you do on wingman and ill see if it works here.
Edit: wingman or profiler its the same thing if you look at the details of the .exe file it says "logitech wingman event monitor"
do this:
In the Profiler got to options> global device settings, or edit> specific game settings
then un-check the box that says "report combined pedals".
______________________________________________________________________________
In game go to Options>controls>Wheel / js,
then click on axis / FF,
There should be a setting that says:
"throttle / Break axis: combined : separate : buttons
Click on separate, then look to the right side, there should yellow and blue lines, those are the possible axis,
Press on your pedals to see which axis are being used,
there also should be a list of assignable axis to the left of the axis indicato:
select function to assign axis
Steer
throttle / break
heading...
etc.
If, when you pushed the separate button, your axis are separate, then the throttle / break button should be two separate buttons, one for throttle only and one for breaks only.
Now press on the pedals, you should see two separate axis being used to the right.
If the axis are separate then you have to assign hem to the corresponding function.
YEAH, got them on seperate axis, and i managed to do a little one with the XRR
but with the XRT the back wheel would spin for a few seconds then stop.
also there isnt much smoke coming of he XRR anyway to make it loads, as in so much you can hardly see?
oh right, is there any mods that can make more smoke?
and im pretty sure if i mess about with the setups i can make a bit more smoke?
but as a reference what should i keep things definetly at?
like should i keep the bias or anything like that in a certain region?
You should keep them at whatever you prefer or what is comfortable. Its more about driving how you like not how you should.
but also it affects the performance of the vehicle so dont lower the Break pressure to low, you wont be able to stop as well, and dont make the bias to rear ended or to front ended.
Generally I prefer high break pressure and a bias of about 70-80%
1) you need a RWD car
2) you need to build up revs and hold the brake pedal
3) release clutch fast, if the revs drop fast release the brake a little bit
4) youre burnouting
or
1) you need a RWD car
2) you need to build up revs and drop the clutch
3) as the car starts to move while wheelspinning apply breaks untill car comes to a halt...
