how do i find the IP? i cant open CMD.exe, however i can run other exe's, how do i find out what to do?
You Network Connections manager thingy should tell you your LAN IP.
Err, you have to be more specific please. Find the IP of what? Your IP, or the one of the other PC?

when i run either dedigui or the proper program it asks for an ip adress as i try to host it, when i go to join via lan, it asks what the ip is, well i dont know! im currently looking for an old memory stick running version of netscan
Start menu, Control panel, Network connections, right click LAN connection, properties, find TCP/IP, click hit properties, its in there.

Although CMD, IPCONFIG is the simple way, , but it you can't CMD then it isnt..........

Dan,

hmm, found an open source netscan clone
Bear in mind that "cmd" is only available on newer versions of Windows, and that "command" was the previous default. Equally you should remember that "ipconfig" is only available on NT based systems, and "winipcfg" was available on 9x based systems.
your ip is in your sig :P
Depending on your router (if you are using one, and not direct connections), it'll probably be something like 192.168.0.x (where x will be somewhere around 2, maybe upto 10, and potentially 255).

as i said above, i cannot access RUN from the Start Menu, and using a shortcut i pre-created it says that it has been forbidden by the System Administrator, i think ive found out how to do it though, you'll find out for sure tommorow...

AT my school, you can fire up notepad, and then create a text file. Just put:

ipconfig
pause

And save it as a *.bat file.

.bat files worked fine, plus i have our it technicians person thing permission to do it! although ive managed to delete LFS off my stick
Shouldn't you theoretically be able to run LFS directly from the stick?

I call it "LFS-on-demand"
