or perhaps they probably forgot the existence of Pedro, or are angry that Pedro didn't get promoted to become a race driver~
FIA has given a harsh warnings that they would not accept such behaviour and if it continues, the worst case scenario would be the Spannish GP might be cancelled~
Sport has sadly always been political, I myself have seen exactly 1 race at Kyalami, its a very deliberate 1 race that was held there in my lifetime...
you know you might be right, the one that I remember well had 7 finishers with Brundle bringing his Tyrrell home 7th and I was praying for one more retirement.
Anyway the point is we didn't have a race in S/A for years, then F1 very deliberately returned briefly when appartied ended.
In 92 Brundle retired quite early on. In 93 Brundle spun off with about 15 laps to go and was classified 8th, the first non-classified driver - it rained heavily for the last three or so laps that year.
I don't get it. It's not like anyone's got killed yet. So a few spaniards made a few anti-Hamilton banners and called him names. It's not nice but I doubt it's the first time a famous athlete has encountered something similar. Occupational hazards, live with it!
Isn't the whole F1 series a little racistic? 50 years ago 21 white guys chasing one black would have been called the kkk, not F1.
As for the overrated comment thats just laughable i am sure Alonso would have had no problems with Hamilton if he was a mid grid runner. The fact he is more than cappable of challanging for podiums all the time ment Alonso started to act like the child he is and threw all the toys out the pram .
So it's ok, because he is famous he should just shut up and deal with it? That's the most stupid thing I've heard.
You can't go out onto the street and start racial abusing people, you get arrested, so why should it be ok in sport, any sport? It seems that some people need to be shown what is acceptable and what is not, if you just do nothing (i.e. don't make it a big deal) then people think that it’s ok to behave like that, when it's clearly not. And as for that last thing, I won’t even bother because that’s even more of a dumb ass comment.
You clearly don’t understand the problem and what it means so don’t say anything, you’ll just make yourself look even more stupid.
Is this place nowdays called Utopia? If you want to live in a dream, go ahead but don't don't drag us real world residents in with you. If someone want's to abuse LH, there's nothing you, I or anyone else can do. It's easy to write clever thoughts about how things should be, when you can't actually make a difference. Of cource we can all condemn these actions, but I doubt it will help.
So you want to rule the world, and preach about law and order? That is a very... I don't even know what to call it, fascist is too mild for it. You're no better than the Spaniards abusing LH, you're even worse.
At somewhere like an F1 circuit or a football stadium, that kind of racial abuse and unacceptable behaviour can be controlled and should be controlled. There is a massive difference between someone just calling him a prick and racial abuse, which is what is happening.
I'm not talking about a utopian society or trying to rule the world, I'm just saying that racial abuse should be taken seriously and not just dismissed as an acceptable price for being famous or in the public eye.
And don't lump me in with those dumbass racists either thank you, thats totally uncalled for.
Yes, there is security in a controlled area, (thou an angry mob can't be stopped very easily.) But how do we stop them from going to hotels, or other public places? That's where you can't control people anymore, and that's what we should be worried about. And that's what I automatically assumed you ment.
But I still don't think racial abuse is any worse than plain regular one. Racism is just one tool for abuse.
It's not a matter of racism, come on, look at it with perspective. There are some disgusting jokes, made to be harsh, but no race-hating is involved. 99% of the banners are just "boo Hamilton " or "cheers Alonso". The banner you can find in every other sport.
Disagree. Racism is in a different league. It means that you think you can judge genetic worth by observing qualities like skin colour or skull shape or whatever. If there's one thing we learned in the last 100 years then it's that that is ethically totally unacceptable.
Good to see the FIA didn't take long to react. And if FA doesn't react it won't exactly help his reputation that people in his fan club think LH is a "black shit".
Painting your face black, and shouting racial abuse?
Next time i got to F1 i will do the same to Alonso... I can't see how people think it's acceptable and I can't see how people think he is arrogant when all he ever does is give thanks to people around him, only once have i ever heard him give anything near "arrogant" and that was in his interview at the Hungarian GP for understandable reasons.
I agree, racism or any other form of abuse is unacceptable but over the past 50 years other types of abuse have started to become 'less important' and people only want to focus on a few, I think its simply because they're so easy to overhype and get people worked up.
Does anyone remember the crap the British gave Schumacher back in the day, and how much abuse he had to take from the pissed up bigots and loud mouthes? Probably not? But its all the same, the only difference is that he was German but I guess that made it ok, right? I think it went as far as his bus being attacked and the German flag being ripped down and such, but what the hell.
So next time you people start looking for blood and punishing a whole nation of passionate F1 fans for the actions of a few, take a step back and take a second look, because from where I'm standing you're just as bad as they idiot few who think what they're doing is fine.
