Many folks would stop racing every now and then, to shout insults at the people of nearby planet rFactor and at the guys in the SimBin constellation (not to mention the weirdos inhabiting the faraway Arcade galaxy).
A lot of people who like rally do like it for the "extreme" atmosphere. But in my opinion the people who view rally as a form of RACING instead of just a show made up of death defying stunts are real rally fans. Racing should always be more important than the glamour.
Exciting to escape death? If I would almost die in a race, I wouldn't be excited, I would be terrified!
"Wov, I almost hit that wall at 200km/h. I feel so lively! This is fantastic! I will try to touch that wall at higher speeds tomorrow!"
vs
"Oh my god, I nearly killed myself! I should quit racing and concentrate my energy to my family. For God sake, I have a 5 years old daughter! What would she think if I kill myself?"
obviously, you haven't skateboarded in your earlier days... it goes more like this...
"whow, GOD DAMN! THAT WAS ****ING CLOSE!!! I WOULD HAVE LOST AN ARM THERE, THAT WAS A MIRICLE!!! THANK YOU GOD!.... now i am going to get back to driving again..."
i have actually done mountain biking off of cliffs back in middle school till freshman year.
actually, once when a car hit me, while i was going to school, i tried to run away from the scene... since i don't wana be bothered with the hassle of going to the hospital(no insurance)... idk what i was thinking... they had to chase me down with an ambulance, and have a medic tackle me to get me to the ER... it turned out i had a fractured shoulder and 3 splinter ribs, 2 of them where about to puncture my lung, lol ... it was okey, but i still mountain biking and other sports after the incident... and i tried arguing about the incident with the driver before i ran... he was talking on his cell...
Maybe I should reword it this way: Racing is more about the competition between cars than the thrill of "defying death". This should and usually does include Rally. Which is why it's sometimes excluded in the list of extreme sports.
There would be no more babies. There would only be new demo users popping up now and then. As they progressed through maturity, they will see the errors of their ways and eventually purchase a license for S2. Occasionally though, some not-so-mature will fall through the cracks and get their license, thus the drift community will continue in S2 from these, while those whom have matured will become productive racers on S2 racing servers while typing in complete sentences and using actual words when communicating.
Tut tut, I drift and race, yet I talk in complete sentences, maybe you should be more careful with your very sweeping generalisations.
If LFS was in real life, the world would consist of several communities, doing different things with their cars, natrually, each group will look down upon and slag off eachother, oh wait, that IS real life.
^nice one! i agree, if LFS was real life, everything would be the same, except we would have a physics system derived from a game! and we would be stuck in our car...
