Act Labs Force Wheel?
I have a chance to pick up one of these wheels...used. Is anyone running this on XP?? Also, do the pedals diconnect from the system? I want to use my CH Pedals. I am currently able to do this with my MSFF Wheel.

Finally is this a good wheel to use with LFS?

Thanks for the info.
I cant really answered about the wheel your asking about. But any FF wheel is a good wheel. From all i have read on here the logitech momo and the logitech dfp are the favoured. The microsoft wheel seems to be used alot too (names gone out my head, anyone know it?)
I have an Act-Labs Force RS. It's a decent wheel with tough internals and a strong motor. It does squeak when turning left, though, and when moving the wheel slowly, it's rather notchy. Also, I had to set the center using DXTweak2. It would always auto-calibrate the center at a little to the right of true center. The pedals can be separated from the wheel itself.

Overall it has served me well.

Are you not satisfied with your current wheel?
Thanks for the replies!

I am actually quite happy with the MSFF! I was just crusin' eBay and ran into this wheel. I could probabaly pick it up at a very good price so I was considering a backup! I also noticed there are NO MSFF Wheels to be bought anywhere.

Thanks,
I have one of these wheels gathering dust on my shelfs, because I have lost my power adaptor to it. Wouldn't be using it anyway since DFP beats it in everything.

The wheel, to my taste, is too thick. The few buttons it has are horribly placed, the precision of the wheel is far from DFP. The gear flaps aren't that good either, they are too small and badly shaped. The pedals are rather bad too, they feel like they are scrubbing the plastic cover and therefore dragging. Also, after using the wheel for a while I started noticing annoying squeking from the electric motor which wen't away (for 2 weeks) by rubbing the brushes of the motor with a screwdriver.

Good points the of the wheel are like Forbin stated, it's rock solid and has powerfull force, but that's about it.

Sorry, but I just think there are far better wheels out there these days (including MSFF).
Great! Thanks a bunch. I believe that's enough info to make me PASS!
Have a Great Day
