My new gear, in preparation for my trip to Summit Point in West Virginia (the Shenandoah circuit at Summit Point). This is after 5 years of wearing a black leather jacket that is older than me and was once my father's.

This is pretty much the only pic I have of me on the bike, I haven't been doing many photoshoots

It's a '96 Beta Zero 250, actually in pretty good nick for a 12-year old trials bike...We don't use them for trials though, instead we use them for touring forestry toads, much better use

Hoping to get a road bike of my own soon though, having a license and all

I'm currently using my Dad's old leathers too The most economical way to start, for sure! I am looking forward to getting some of my own though!

I imagine I'll be getting a lot of that, along with "Stig" (although perhaps not so much here in the US ).

Nice. Not overly keen on the paintjob, but love the bike itself.

Is that an FZR infront?

Very observant
Yes it's the FZR 1000.
ouch

What happened?
Damn Andy, you've not had that one long have you?

Ditto to Dan's question, what the funk happened?
Just a guess: car turned in front of him.

Pics of wrecked bikes make me sad. Hope you're alright, andy!
Id love to say it was a silly bint in a car that pulled out on me but it was all me.

too fast into a corner try'ed to stop did'nt work and ended up going head on into a lamp post and landed in a stream with a bust arm and knee
Damn, the main thing is you're alive and kicking, with one leg atleast.
Whoops, unfortunately, an all to common occurance

Glad you are still alive to tell the story mate, get well soon.

oh man im jealous, that things a beast
Taken it on track, I see! Nice Here's how mine is looking right now, minus fenders and with new headlights I mounted. Still have to tidy up the wires and work on the details, but it gives you an idea. Oh, and I need to get some front turn signals and a mirror or two. Getting rid of the stock bodywork including the heavy headlight assembly (the frame that supports the headlight unit and the mirrors was HEAVY) has taken over 10lb of weight off the very front of the bike. The front end now comes up more easily in 1st gear, and also in 2nd now if I snap the throttle open at 6000rpm.

Edit: I now have some turn signals on the front of the bike, and an identical pair on the back. They're quite a bit nicer than the stock ones which were huge and cumbersome units. Once I've tidied up the wiring and given the bike a wash and wax I will get some better pictures up...
