agreed

right now listening to Aphex Twin - Delphium
Rap was good in the Late 80's/Early 90's, like all music scenes, it has become about making the most money, not making the best music.

Jeremy - Pearl Jam
Who listen to cRap apart from Americans...

Real music is anything but Rap and Trance and other techno shits like this.

Listening to Strung Out - Katatonia by the way...

Most modern rap acts are all about making money, (with exceptions I'm sure) there is no soul or passion put into the music, its designed to leave the shelves like a rocket, why do you think that a lot of modern rap songs have several big 'artists' featured in them, i'ts so that the song appeals to fans of both rap artists and so sells more records.

Ofcouse a lot of rock music is just as shit, with soft rock for 9 year old's by the likes of Arvil Lavigne being the worst of it, also aslo hate the 'Post Punk' thing that has started to infest this country, where every new band (They call it 'Indie' music!) sounds the same, the worst being 'Scouting For Girls' who I think have an armless piano player, who simply smahes his head into the keyboard to play the notes.

Rock music should be manic, not soft, and rap music should be angry and confrontational, most modern rap artists only ever talk about themselves and their ho's not about reallife things, and so modern rap fans live in a fantasy world where crime is acceptable.
In my eyes, and many others here, rap IS shit, not the shit. Same with dance, trance and stuff like that. It all sounds the same, either talking quickly about bitches and Escalades, or a lot of soppy lyrics about loving someone with the same beat as the song before that one.

Rock is where its at. Instantly people assume rock as people just screaming/shouting lyrics no one can understand (yeah OK some bands are like that, but that's not exactly a large majority or the whole rock genre). Most rock songs have shitloads of meaning to the lyrics, get a good vocalist to sing, a couple of shithot guitarists and a decent drummer and you're talking business.

At the end of the day, each to their own.

Now listening to Marylin Manson's The Last Tour On Earth album.
Although i know your not talking about Hardcore and the like, Techno and Trance (as much as i dislike them) have very...generic sounds.

I agree, alot of them do sound very similiar, but i've never heard a Techno or Trance song with love lyrics.
Maybe you're referring to Happy Hardcore? In which case no, they don't sound the same.

But, i can easily tell your not much of a Electronic guy, so you wouldn't know...

So i leave with this.

HARDCORE WILL NEVER DIE

Neophyte - Always Hardcore.
I was referring to more dance/club/chavvy music with the lovey dovey crap.

Happy hardcore pretty much sounds all the same, aswell as drum 'n bass. Although there are a few tracks which I don't mind, well over played but not bad. No idea of the names though.

No I'm not much of an electronic guy, although I do love Mindless Self Indulgence with 'electronic punk' as they like to call it. Not quite the same but still got the twist in it.

I've been through a few phases of liking different music (as I guess a lot have), I used to like rap and hiphop, dance, trance, happy hardcore etc etc. But rock has just taken over, it just all makes sense.

I'm open to trying new things out, but it won't necessarily mean I'll like them a lot.

Anyway, now listening to Primus' Brown Album.
Jimi Hendrix - Star Spangled Banner (WS '69)

next in line :

Pink Floyd - Dogs (Animals)

Ah, in that case yes. I can't stand dance/club crap.

MSI are great, favourite band by far.

Drum n bass ftl
Happy hardcore ftw

+infinity

They're my most played according to last.fm
The Doors - Touch Me
I went through a phase of listening to really heavy rock/metal but I finally settled down with 'dance' music although I hate to call it that, prefer the term electronica as that sounds less mainstream. I agree that there are many many dance/club/dnb groups/songs that sound exactly the same, which is why I like more leftfield, oddball stuff like Aphex Twin, Venetian Snares, Add N to (X) etc. Stuff that makes people go 'hey thats actually pretty good, who made that' and then I can tell them Don't get me wrong though, I'm still a big fan of a select few rock bands, Muse being one

Aphex Twin - Nannou
hardcore is the worst music for me
All i ever wanted-Basshunter
