Some more info on the plan for the whole day:
* People can begin to meet at a nearby pub from midday. You don't need to turn up this early, but I'd like people to be there by 1pm, if possible, so we can get to know one another a bit before going karting. I am still verifying the exact pub, but will post details of the pub once confirmed. And of course, no alcohol for those going to be racing. Spectators are free to get bladdered.
* We are to be at Karting North East for 2pm, for people to sign in, pay the other 50%, and have the safety briefing. The practise session should be kicking off half two.
* Depending on the race plan, as being discussed in the new poll thread linked to above, I expect the karting to last 2 or 3 hours.
* For the evening, those staying after the karting need to whisk themselves up the road to Newcastle for some nightlife. I'd suggest meeting in the big Wetherspoons, as a) it's big b) easy to find being next to the train station c) cheap and does a reasonable selection of food.
* As there will be at least 3 LFS'ers kipping at my place, I'm going to set up two PCs with large screens and G25s in my front room for some drunken head-to-head racing. I'm assuming there will be some interest in this. Other people are welcome to join in with this before going back to their accomodation, although it will cost you an extra taxi trip, if this is split it should be minimal (a taxi to mine is a fiver from town).
With some people not spending the night, and others driving so not drinking, I don't mind if some people only have time for some LFS before meeting at the pub, so it can be done that way round if people prefer. I'm open to suggestions on that and would like to hear your thoughts on what sounds best.
