As you may know, my PC keeps Blue-screening. I’m not sure what causes this, however it seems very hot in my case for no real reason (all of the temps I can monitor seem ok). Currently I think the PSU is very hot and as we all know Hiper PSU’s aren’t known for their reliability, so I’d like to replace it.
What do you think I’d need? I’m on a budget, but i’d like something that can power my PC (which in case your too lazy to click the link in my sig):
Xeon x3210 Quad Core (pretend I have a Q6600 B3 overclocked to 3.2 GHz to give me some head-room),
Asus P5K-E,
4 GB of DDR1000 RAM,
8800GTX (at stock),
6600GT,
3x 7200RPM HDD’s,
2x DVD Drives,
X-Fi.
I was thinking of something along the lines of a Corsair 550w but I don’t know if that would be good enough or not.
Also, I was thinking about trying to get a new (bigger) case and swapping my 8800GTX (aka teh heat monsta!) for something else (around the same performance, simply something that requires less power and makes less heat and fits in my case better) – any recommendations? Needs to be nVidia to work with the 6600GT. And a case, too!
