I've never found money (that I know of). I did deposit $100 in the bank and when I got home, I looked at the slip and the bank had deposited $1000.

I worked in a grocery store in high school. I found a purse outside and turned it in at the front office. Then next day, I had a thank you card waiting for me with $50 in it.
Quote from STROBE :Oh c'mon, James has a point... ....Nope, thought not.

Isn't almost every goddamn thread in an off-topic section useless? Though if they weren't useless there wouldn't be a need for an offtopic section.

Secondly, you have to remember that internet in it's own way reflects reality. This is due to interweb being anonymous and you may release your unconvential-in-real-life thoughts without worrying about anyone laughing at your face. All in all it's a quite subcontious need that people seldom realise themselves.

What most people don't realise is that on the internet YOU get to choose what you read and which topics to reply. It isn't like real life, where for example I today had an "Can I please have the wasted 50 minutes of my life back? Please?" experience, where you don't get that choise.

... Oh, and all the money I've found have normally found have been old Finnish Marks. Usually I found them while cleaning the car.
3 years ago i found 5$ on the side of the road when i was walking the dogs with my sister she wanted to keep it but i got to it first
My sister found €50.

I wouldn't even wipe my arse with 5 dollars, for what it's worth

5 dollars.
i found a tenner on the ground outside woolworths once. It was brand new en all. Just printed from the date on it :P
Quote from bmwe30m3 :I've once found 100 EEK wich is about 6 euros, but it was back like 8 years,so estonian money had more value

Same here, i´was 12 years old and i was going back to school and found a wallet with pencils and 200 CZK (8 EUR) in park. There was also card with name and photo of that poor person, some little girl... i took the money and left the wallet in the same place. Shame on me.
Quote from thisnameistaken :I once found a suitcase with £2M in it. It wasn't exactly hard though - it was exactly where I'd told the victim's parents to leave it.

:uglyhamme
haha I just found $50 in wal-marts parking lot the other day...But the most I've ever found was about $367 at Kentucky Speedway..
When I first moved to Holland a few years back, I used a cashpoint and withdrew 250 guilders. Nothing happened and as the machine was in Dutch and I didn't understand it, I walked away. As I was walking down the street a dutch guy came running up to me and handed me the 250 guilders. I was so stunned and embarrassed I didn't even buy him a drink But it made me realise that would never have happened in the UK
I found a twenty floating around the local lake when I went swimming. I was dam happy to have it, but then I realized it's probably soaked in all the human piss in the lake.

The lake is like a treasure though. Every week I find at least a few coins that fell out of someones trunks.
@ BMWE30M3

Damn you ! I just spent about 5 minutes trying to squish your avatar ! :gnasher:

OT- I once found a £50 note!

which I then realised had Monopoly written on it.
Quote from jasonmatthews :But it made me realise that would never have happened in the UK

Actually I did that once and left £20 in a machine and somebody shouted for me as I walked away. Had got sidetracked checking the balances on my accounts I forgot that I had also taken money out after receiving my card.

Back 'on topic', I think the most I've found has been a £1 from an empty locker that was next to mine at the swimming pool.
I found a 3000 Italian Lire note a few years ago just lying on the floor and thought I was rich - I nearly handed it in at a police station.

When I got home I looked up the exchange rate and found it was worth about £1
I was walking with my mate down a road when he kicked an envelope, it went flying down the road so he ran, picked it up and opened it, £100 and all i got was a flamin full english out of it!!! some friend huh! There was no-one around us either. It was right near a little bus shelter so i think someone dropped it on their way onto the bus. The way i see things regarding finding money is ive probably lost about £50-£100 in cash over the years so this is society paying us back when we find stuff, whoever dropped it is probably long gone by the time you find it. If i saw who dropped it then id return it because that's just wrong.

BTW Jack i was ready to slap Luke.S for this thread

I once found 1000 Danish Kroner's in a electronics store, was 12.
And went home to mum and showed her what I found, shouldn't have done that. SHE TOOK IT! And bought me bed sheets? Tell me, what kind of 12 year old does she think I am? Bed sheets? How about some pokemon cards man!?

Btw 1000 DKK is around 100£.
I was in a nightclub a few years back and me and my 3 mates found £80 lying on the steps that lead to the VIP bar. No chance of finding who it belonged to as the club was full (1500 people and 4 floors to choose from) we had no hope of finding whos it was. We were gonna hand it in at the bar but we figured it would have either been spent by the bar staff or put in the till so we just had £20 each!

About a month ago i found one of these cameras laying on the pavement near my house. It works, but has a chunk out of the front part (see picture) I handed it in to police, pretty much forgot about about it. Then i got a call last week saying it had not been claimed at that it is now mine! Bonus!!

Gratz, i would like to found one of these.
A few years ago, I found a €20 note on the bottom of a swimming pool in Austria I put it on a towel in the sun to dry, and a few hours later I was €20 wealthier

I once found a very expensive mobile phone in the dodgems in a local theme park. Silly me handed it to one of their employees instead of keeping it. That was a few years ago though. If I were to find one again, I'd keep it and try to find the owner
Bah only 150pesos = 15usd , I was walking home and in some place I saw to the ground and there was a "weird" thing on the ground, I took one step and then I tought "Wtf moneyz" and took It with me.

Even if it was only a kit lens on the front of that (can't tell from the pic), that is one heck of a find....

http://www.adorama.com/ICA40DK ... chinfo=40d&item_no=11

That chip on the front is only the add-on hood. It is put on backwards in the pic. To use it, you would want to turn it around. That is one reason right there for having it on the camera. The chip is in the $15 hood rather than the couple hundred dollar lens.

Nah, forget all that. The chunk taken out of the front renders the camera completely useless! I'll give you $50 for it all
My friend found a digital camera in a local "BORDERS" shop in between sofa cushions in a lounge area. He was really chuffed as he is into photography all he paid for was the USB. About a £120 camera I think, not creditcard size in thickness but about the same width and height as one, just picture about 10creditcard packed together, that should give you an idea. Or I could look up the camera model and post it here. Which I cannot be bothered to do.
Strange thing happened to me a few years back. I was on my way home and it was a dark, rainy and snowy evening. I walked up to a bus stop and while I was waiting for the bus to come with nobody around I noticed those two plastic bags that leaned at the back of the bus stop shelter.

First thought was: someone dumped their litter there, but when I approached the bags and tipped them a little with my foot, I heard the sound of full bottles jingling.
I took a look inside the bags and they were full with cigarrette packs of all brands and at least 5 bottles of whiskey. When I took a (quick, dodgy) look around noone was to be seen, so I stuffed one of the bags into my rucksack and the other half under my coat and walked away determined... I went up to a mates house a few blocks away where I told him everything and we dumped the to bags on the floor. It was about 80 packs of cigarrettes and 6 bottles of whiskey both in all kinds of mixed brands.

We had fags and booze for many weeks...
