I watched Casino Royale again last night, it really is far better than any Bond movie for many,many years.
Daniel Craig is perfect for the roll.

Nothing can beat the old classic James Bond movies IMO.
The Sean Connery Bond films were fantastic....classics, i can watch most of them over and over. The whole franchise got a bit stale and cheesy in the end though.
Brosnan breathed a bit of life into it all, but the last Bond with him in it was pretty poor imo.
Casino Royale managed to have grittier feel whilst keeping all the things that make a classic Bond movie. Hopefully they can keep it up with QOS.
Brosnan was the best James Bond IMO, but I enjoy every 007 film anyway 
The only Bonds I take as 'good movies' are the first ones and the last one. The others don't have the humor that made Bond films what they were. They just took themselves too seriously. They are all fairly worth the watch (except Die Another Day and that whatever it was named another one) but they aren't anywhere near the term 'classic'.

Brosnan isn't even half the actor that Daniel Craig is imo
He does make for a good Bond, but more because of the "look and feel" of the character Bond as we know him, rather than his acting performance. Daniel Craig did the same thing to the look and feel of the new character of Bond, except that he had to play a much more realistic character, which is arguably much more difficult than the typical "say a clever one-liner and drive off in a fast car" styled Bond we're used to.

I'll agree on that.
I have a funny feeling that without Fleming's writing influence, Bond is going to become a horrid, unfunny, special effects whizz bang showcase with even lessd depth and charisma than in the past.
The trailer gives me the impression that it includes all the good bits of the film, which is never a good sign...

Well, that is what trailers generally do. Which is quite irritating because it takes away a lot of any surprise you could have experienced. Especially when they show a trailer of the film you're seeing while you're in the cinema...
True, to a certain extent. But the trailers of the really good films generally give you just enough info to get you hooked, and then give 120 times that in the actual film. I just think (and it's only a hunch) that QOS (which is a stupid name) will actual be the trailer with 120 minutes of padding in between each clip.
