not sure if this is true but ive noticed there seems to be 2 styles of setups.
my f08 setup tends to be very forgiving, i can catch slides, alter line mid corner if someone spins / carves me up and can even get away with a bit of braking whilst on limit.
a lot of other drivers, not just the faster ones, seem to be much more edgy and the moment they go off line or get a slight slide, they go off and if some one is on piece of tarmac they expected to be clear, they hit.
now i can understand that when pushing for the last 1/10th when getting close to wr speeds that a setup will be unforgiving but surely for the drivers at my sort of speed or even slower, drivability and staying on track should be a consideration rather than the theoretical laptime a setup can do if it stays on track and you can find its limit.
afterall as the old saying goes
"to finish first, first you have to finish"
(thanks to becky rose for reminding me of that last night)
any comments / thoughts ?
