Nice report Michael, keep them coming
It was very good for first piece, it will only get better as you get more used to it. Something that kinda caught my nerve was when you explained how to find the tic-tac video, it was something along the lines of "go to LFS movies section and it's there somewhere". You want to give accurate information and for that video you could have just added a link or username on bottom of the screen for his Youtube profile.

As a small little detail, aspect ratio seemed to change between pieces.

I accept those points.

I think the aspect ratio changed between the "Movies" intro and the showing of Tic Tac.

Quote from DeadWolfBones :So when do you get to interview Jessica, Michael?

Any better?

Much better, I wasn't trying to be harsh by the way, just giving you something constructive to work from, it was a great report and hopefully it will keep on getting better.
Michael, since you said you don't have a fancy studio, here's a suggestion: put a chair + desk somewhere out in the garden or the fields, and change the location a few times. (I've watched a lot of Monty Python sketches lately. )

It might make the background more interesting, since you don't have Jessica's "assets".
Michael, great job

Only thing I could complain about is that don't scratch your face while talking to the camera . It may turn on some people like kev but for rest of us it's something we'd rather not see

Still great job, a lot better than I expected

I had an itch << much like that guy.

Hmm.. that desk in the middle of a wide field is a good idea. I don't suppose you could get a few girls with little clothes on there with you?

Quote from Hyperactive : don't scratch your face

That was the funniest part in it!!
Just watched it & thought it was pretty good for a first attempt.

Only things I would say is try to keep it short & sweet your intro matrix anim was way to long (yawn) & the subjects you covered seem to drag on a bit, we're not a load of dummies.
You could have just said there's a new tool over at 3id, tell us what it does & where to find it. Job done. Same with the videos LFS is a race sim not a hollywood car chase.

Hope you can use this as constructive criticism , keep us the good work & cant wait to see the next episode .

I will disagree strongly with that - what is the point in me telling you about a tool and not actually showing you how it's used? That would be like Top Gear saying "Ferrari have invented a new type of wheel, but you should buy it to find out more". I'm doing LFS reports which means I report on pieces of news and gadgets from LFS, in some detail. It's not just aimed at LFS racers, it's aimed at anyone who watches ISR.
I agree, with most insim applications you need to do some basic explaining so people can use it. I myself couldn't be bothered and just downloaded all the setups on the site into my setup folder.

I see where your coming from but Top Gear wouldn't show you how to start a car would they? I think you've gone a little bit to in depth on the subject thats all.
e.g. - informing us to download the file  & comments like "erm let me just read the instructions" You should at least sound like you know what your doing.
I suggest some MoE coverage for the next episode?

Well he was reviewing the application, if he couldn't get it working or found the instructions too complicated then it would have been useful to see that, so we know that the application is easy to use now, because the numpty on the video could make it work.
Just watched the new SRT episode and I liked it!

English lad did a good job!

Actually I found that bit pretty amusing and it don't distance himself from the average person using the program. It's kind of like watching James May do something that ends up in him saying "oh cock" and I think it's pretty obvious it was purposely added in there (or at least not edited out).

@Mp3 Astra
As a presenter: apart from the constant face-scratching (which btw is not a good idea as far as personal hygiene goes) you did a splendid job - very clear voice, looking at the camera and quite natural.

As a general presentation: considering this was the first (to, I hope, many) installment, you're doing it voluntarily (or at least the gun was off camera) I can't really find a pattern of things to pick on or criticize, so I'll give it a go whenever the next report comes up. Keep it up.
Oh. My. God.

Someone give some voice lessons to Jessica ! GAHHHH ! She's worse than Sarah Palin !

And I say this having heard some absolutely crappy journalists/reporters here at Ohio University.

The reports all around were great (not just Michael's). The voice intonations are good on everyone (except Jessica). I also think it would be better to have her standing, instead of acting like she's been interrupted by you while she was at the bars. That lean she had on the counter looked like that sort of thing....like you're talking to her, trying to pick her up at the bar...only difference is, you're all sober (I expect).

@Michael:

Great stuff. I'd try to avoid the "Walk to Nowhere" in your on-camera bits. I'd also avoid the gestures as much as possible. The camera accentuates every movement you make, so what looks minor in real life looks not so minor on tape. I'd also invest in some sort of stabilization device for your camera outdoors - aka a tripod. If you must do the "Walk to nowhere" bit, you can construct a dolly fairly cheap using some PVC pipe (It's been done before) - it might not be perfect, but it'll get the job done.

And oh yeah: You didn't "overhear" the tease before Jessica started. You "heard" it...it was directed at the viewer.

What? Who tease? Where?

It may have been where she told everyone to stay tuned, it sounded like she was saying "stay tuned despite the next section, because we are back to close the show next". But to be honest most people are too distracted to actually notice she is talking.

Are you referring to when she says

"Michael PAAAssingHAAAAM"

Or just generally during the video?
Deko - you need to get out more

@ Joe - shes american nub

Can't wait for the next episode - this weekend yeah?

Whenever the next ep is realeased. On that day you'll see the missing race reviews.
Quote from J@tko :Deko - you need to get out more

Why ?

Just because I didn't once mention Jessica's breasts in my post, does not mean I need to get out more.

I managed to have an "epic fail", not realising when ISR shows are released. It was published today but I did not know, therefore my latest interview did not make it into the show...
