"It's really more of an industrial simulator than a game, and we're pretty sure it costs a bit more than a Playstation 3."

They chose LFS to demonstrate there hardware which means that it is compatible.
I hope this will be available to public.

Cheers!

I have P180 case and my fans are set to medium. Also have a cat but I don't allow it in that room. Case is also on the floor, I clean the fan filters once a month.
Cheers!

Thanks for your help guys but unfortunately I am at work now so I will have to make changes to the server when I get back home. Oh maybe I will try to remote desktop.

I will let you guys know when I made some changes.

Thanks again!

Hi all,

I am trying to set up a dedicated server so if someone can please try to connect to "Canadian Server" and tell if it works.

Greatly Appreciated

Well I only have to say that my heart is in my throat even when I am doing Hot Laps or Singleplayer.
I guess experience plays a big role in this.

Very nice idea! I am happy to see such a thoughtfully dad who organizes events like this, only if I had kids.
How about our wifes "have a go"

Cheers!
What is a combo?

Hi all,

What is a combo?
Is it a mix of cars and tracks on a server?

Thanks!

The only problem I have with the gear shifter is when I am making a turn and have to gear up or down, I go for the shifter now I am holding the wheel with one hand and FF gerks the wheel and I am off spinning. Maybe I just have to get use to it since I have no problem driving with one hand in real world. But I like the shifter now.

Thanks!

Quote from banshee56 :CHOPS Racing Canada is a Canadian based team, with some US drivers in there too. Race only, however....no drift.

Thanks banshee56!

I would recommned Antec P180B case. I have one for some time now and am very happy, case like this would probably last quite a few upgrades. All the fans are 120mm so it is very very quite.

Thanks mrodgers, I didn't even think of using it for views. I will give it a try today. Plus it`s probably more realistic to use shifter for changing gears.

Cheers!
Just got my MOMO : ), and I have a Q?

Hi everyone,

I just bought a MOMO wheel. Still getting used to it after a gamepad. It is amazing how much of a difference there is when you play LFS with a wheel WOW. Sorry just wanted to brag a little.
1. Do you guys use the paddles on the wheel to change the gears or the gear shifter?
2. Where can I check the revision of the wheel?

See ya on the track!!

Cheers!

Its a personal choice I think, if you don't want to play simply don`t. And I don`t think that we need to open up a fresh thread for this. LFS is the greatest SIM for me and everyone who loves it and I don`t spoon feed it to any one.

Cheers!

Quote from mrodgers :Perhaps with Walmart always stocking previous generation computer stuff, after Christmas here in the US, the DFP will again be on clearance. Around me, Walmart had oodles of DFP's on clearance for $40 usd. I didn't want the noise of the DFP, since I race at night with the little ones in bed. So I just stuck with my Momo, which I'm perfectly happy with.

Is DFP a loud wheel because of the force feedback? I thought you can turn FF down as much as you want.

Cheers!!

I would say LFS beats GTR2 hands down and I`ve played GTR2 for a few months.
Long live LFS

Thanks a lot guys for your help. I will probably go for DFP. Oh and one more question can I some how limit the 900 degree to say 270 on the DFP.

Rtsbasic I found one for about $110 but not in stock is that a more reasonable price?

Thanks again!!!

Is Logitech DFP worth the extra cash vs. Logitech MOMO

Hi all,

I am still new to LFS and currently use gamepad. I would like some opinions on whether the Logitech DFP is worth the extra mulla or should I just get Logitech MOMO Racing Force wheel. By the way this will be my first wheel. Also the price of DFP for me here in Canada is $175 and MOMO is $102. Is there a big difference in compatibility with PC between MOMO and DFP since DFP is for PS2?

Your opinions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

This is a great guide CSU1, thanks. I am currently using gamepad and am very very slow but with your guide became a little faster.
Saving for a wheel .

Here is a system I put together very fast for you. All the prices are in Canadian dollars so I converted the total to EUROs. This setup is just an outline of what you can afford for 400 euros or less. I dont know if your retailer has these components if not you can look at different setups or ask me and I wll be glad to help. With this system setup you will be able to run LFS with all beels and wistles and with AA and AF to the max.

Motherboard: MSI K9N NEO-F, ATX, Nforce 550, AM2, DDR2, PCI-E16 $90
CPU: Amd Athlon 64 3800+ Processor Socket AM2 Orleans 2.4GHZ $123
RAM: Crucial Rendition 1GB PC2-5300 DDR2-667 $115
Video Card: EVGA E-GEFORCE 7600 GT PCI-E 256MB $155

Total: 330 EURO no taxes

You can still get a HDD and/or a cheap LCD monitor.

Cheers!
