in my opinion the only problem with drifting a gtr car is only the fact that in lfs the slicks wear out / overheats too fast. a good drifter can compensate the lack of steering angle with an understeered setup or other techniques. i guess if we could use normal tires on the gtrs the fun would last longer.
remember what the drift king said: "Theres always a way to drift any car."
btw i suggest opening a thread about the Live For Speed - Stage Drift version.
maybe it would solve all of our problems.
+1 i agree!! nice idea. i would pay another 12pounds for that
the tracks are nice as they are now. (maybe i would ask for very narrow tarmac circuit track on a mountain where we could do some up and downhill races. with all the nice stuff you know guardrails, drainages etc. would be really fun yes im an initial d fan :P )
i would pay for some classic drift cars. it doesnt matter how they would be called in the game. see lotus 7 = lx cars.
i would like the xrg to look and have the same tech. specs like an ae86 trueno. call it xr86 or whatever (i personally really want this one because i own one in real life. well actually mine is a levin.)
xrt -> silvia s14/s15
i dont think there would be any trouble with copying the shapes and technical datas of real cars and putting it into lfs until the devs dont use the brands or the cars real names.
anyway
i have little problem with the new patch. sorry if it was questioned before but i have that little "bling" like sound when i shift gears. thats the same sound which is when i press a random key on the keyboard which has no function. im using an H shifter which simulates defined keystrokes which keys are set to the gear numbers in lfs.
how can i disable that sound? (no, i dont want to delete the file or turn down the interface volume )
i dont get why people want to remove the extra features. they are not even show up on the start. you have to push a button to see them. they are there so you can analyse your replays, and during practises you can see how your tires behaves. if you dont like it then just dont turn it on! illepall
maybe i have solution for you.
i think at least modding of the cars meshes could be allowed but limited maximum and minimum sizes. this mod wouldnt affect the physics. yet many people would be happy by it. i think of an editor that is released by the devs. it could be a program outside of lfs. we could load the original meshes and edit them freely between the maximum and minimum size. we could just save the new mesh and put it into a directory in lfs (maybe data/custommesh/xrg/xrg_levin/XRG_levin.mesh). the editor could give a new skinning template just by shooting some photos of the new mesh from the same views that are on the original skin template. after finishing the skin it could be placed to another directory inside skins (data/skins/custommesh/xrg/XRG_levin_hibino.jpg)
the custom meshes + their skins could be uploaded to lfsworld and people could download it when racing online IF they want. i guess the meshes would be even smaller in size then the skins.
well i guess dragrace fans would be happy by it. but it seems there isnt too much extreme draggers here so they dont ask things.
listen man youre really posting without enough knowledge.
driftcars are basicly modified street cars as well as most of the drag cars too. except thoes professional dragsters that are built completely to dragraces.
these streetcars in lfs can be modified to get the best acceleration results out of their engines since the gears and final ratio is highly adjustable. an average streetdrag car has even less mods.
thoes racers who like drags could only ask for a real dragster imho.
drifters are fine with these streetcars in lfs. almost all of the modifiablity is available already.
hey! dont you see youre starting it over again? geez
btw i hate thoes suggestions about removing all the adjustablity of the road cars.
by doing that you would also remove all the :star: magic:star: of lfs.
i would definitely leave lfs if that would happen and i think many other racer/drifter too.
i dont know i never tried it. just saw some lame guys _playing_ with it. clearly unrealistic.
and youre right. when i first tried lfs i didnt even heard of drifting (2002, 0.04N) i was a racer in the hungarian league for more than 2 yrs. while i started drifting in 2003 i got tired and bored of professional racing and i quit at the end of 2004 if i remember correctly.
i enjoy shorter average races though. but racing is not my life.
i suggest you to read the whole thread from the start or if you did then read it again carefully!
theres some truth in what you just said but the most of it is just nonsense.
theres nothing to do with the name: live for speed. do you judge a person by the name? illepall or should i ask that speed equals racing in your mind? well drifting has speed :P
lfs is the most advanced simulation of real cars. therefore we use it for drifting also.
there are various other drift simulations (eg: nfs series drift mode, D1GP on ps2, racer's D1GP mod) but they are just arcade level and thats why lfs drifters dont like it. if that wasnt obvious for you.
and to inform you: there ARE people who bought lfs to use it for drifting. even my friend did that. and me too. i bought my s2 license because i was interested in the more powerful streetcars like fz50 to drift with them.
but anyway youre a racer and i see youre against drifters. it doesnt matter what you think about drifting because you obviously know nothing about it. in this case please just stay with the original topic. this is not a the thread where people can share their hate against drifters. this is about the max lock angle.
i dont really remember where is this term originated from. i guess it was this place, lfsforum or amybe the older one at rsc this is not my idea
ok racers from now, whatever your wish... :P
btw is pointless ta say something like this "doesn't apply to the cars they're simulating." most cars in lfs are fictional so their maximum lock depends only on the devs.
it doesnt matter. you still attack without a purpose.
most of the people who replied this thread said nothing useful. only trolling on the few drifters who actually writes down the needs of the whole drift community.
on the other hand i did show and explained many things related to the lock angle and drifting in real life. do you call that nothing?
you dont know much about this sport and not interested in it so how could you know its needless for us?
it doesnt matter what anyone says or thinks about this. the facts are:
drifters use lfs. lfs is a simulator and it has modifiable race/streetcars (countless modifications are possible even at low class street cars)
obviously lfs is meant to be a "racing simulator" and for for normal racing 36° lock is enough. but since there are drifters who paid for and use lfs there are also other needs. in this case it is not a big deal. this is an easy modification that (well yes, grippers dont need and wouldnt even think of doing such a thing with their cars) is used in drifting.
let me give you an other short and maybe more understandable perspective about this:
there are two groups: the grippers and the drifters
these two groups have different goals in motorsports. to reach it they also have different needs.
while gripper go staright trying to save the tires during the race and shortening their laptimes, drifters go sideways, there arent long races to save the tires for and they must overtake and must not be overtaken.
these groups are like fire and ice.
(hahaha, well most of the cases here fire wants to melt ice while ice just wants to stay cool . this was a joke, dont think anything serious hidden)
different competitions, different styles, different needs.
but there is something common: they all love lfs. they paid for it and they will pay for the next releases(i will for sure). they want improvements related to their sports.
now here is something small change, a 1 minute improvement that would make drifters happy, while their happiness wouldnt affect grippers.
if the devs let drifters use 45° again we will be very happy. if not, well we still can drift.
from now on plz talk about the original topic (i hope you dont think this was a stupid post again :P)
thats childish, you make fun of my name. i could do that too but i wont because im not at that low level. to tell the truth i did things like that but i was at the age of 7-8. thats plain childish, you shold stop it. and after that you call me (and i guess all the drifters) unintelligent.
what comes next? saying shut your biatch mouth! or fukk yourself?
stop it dude i mean it geez >
seriously this thread is now off topic.
tristan! i want to say to you that i dont like you now and i wish something baaaad for you! mmkay?
plz quit being so rude with me because it makes me reeeally sad! :'(
this thread is now against my person.
its not about the lock angle anymore because nobody can tell us a correct and true reason why not to change back to 45 (or even more) degrees.
your only problem here is just that you dont like me :P
but who cares? i was just saying that IF you are a gripper and dont really know anything more about drifting then it is gay/stupid JUST dont bother us in our fun! okay?
so now i cleared it for you. if you still cant understand this then youre who is not intelligent enough.
btw your avatar lacks creativity. :haha:
