Wait just a minute. I would say exactly the same thing for oculus dk2. If you still cant make out signs and it's hard to see breaking points than i have to say i'm very disappointed. All reports say that HTC and CV1 have very similar image quality. After reading this i can only hope that CV1 will be at least 2x better than HTC.
I was hoping to do what just2fast wrote here but if it brakes multiplayer then i will not do that.
I have smooth flow when i look ahead, but if i look aside the moving objects look choppy ass you pass by them. I didnt notice that until last patch. LFS was the smoothest running VR experience so far and i could spend hours in it. Now i get sick very fast.
Oh, i see. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.
Judder is not present all the time. For example if i look left or right while driving straight, passing objects are not passing smooth as when i look ahead. Instead they stutter somehow.
Do you have to turn vsync off with sdk 0.7 for it to run smooth?
Also, can you please tell me where to get this dll needed to run lfs with sdk 0.7?
My pc spec:
CPU: i7 4790K
GPU: nVidia GTX 980
RAM: 16GB
OS: Windows 8.1
Please make city maps and sell them. No licence needed, sure sellers.
This doesn't mean LFS would stop being a racing sim, it would just have more options which is always a good thing.
You've got great physics and decent graphics. The only thing holding lfs back is content and it's been like that for a long time.
Maybe there's a way to kick start a project for hiring 3D artists if man power is a problem.
If you don't wont anyone to have access to your source code, maybe you could import their work into lfs by your self.
Is it possible to remove vsync when using oculus rift?
Tried entering 0 in cfg.txt but it had no effect. I would like to try it off to see if it gets any smoother.
I get judder now and i remember few months ago it was very smooth when i tried it.
Please help, today was the first time i got sick with the rift.
Also came back after a long time. I was pretty hard core back then and now i even have to look in the manual for simple things like bringing up connections list. When i started my "first" race with oculus DK2 against ai at south city long, i thought i was gonna cry... all those memories, some of the best times i've had behind PC. It all came back rushing through my mind. Never again since those days i had so many online friends, my msn messenger never rested and people chatting on TS always being present in my headset.
A 1.47 guy wonts to win a battle, a 1.44 guy wonts to win a race. Looks like both wonts the same thing...to win something. They wont to win their own class of the driver. So if the driver feels that he is in a top class, who can blame him if he wonts to win a race.
LFS is more dinamic and i love it's pickup races when i got just like 30 min. spare time. rF is the thing i'm waiting for (got my flame suit on lol) and when it's out, then i'm going to decide where i'll stick. Tryed GTL demo and it realy didnt do anything special to me (except eyecandy dx9 features). In my oppinion GTR is better than S1, S2 way better than GTR and GPL-demo and what will rF be...i'll have to wait and see, but i got high hopes for it.
I dont think some of you understood my point. In the case you described, it certenly wouldnt be your fault. But to say that if somone hits you from behind, it is the hitters fault, this is where i wouldnt agree. It very much depends of what a guy in front did as well. The hitter is to blame in roughly 9 out of 10 times but not in 100% of the cases. When i say that sometimes the guy from behind is not to blame, the key word would be "sometimes".
That would be the rule on the public roads and normal traffic driving but i dont agree that it's the case in racing. You have to know that the driver behind cannot always anticipate some wreckles stunt that you may pull to prevent him to overtake.
Impossible? Are you saying that there shouldnt be overtaking in the first corner? One of the best ways to climb the grid is to take every "possible" chance you get to overtake at the start (that would include first corners) but it takes skills. Naturaly, all people have their own ways so i'm not saying yours is wrong. I just say that sometimes the guy that hits you is not always to blame (in case you did the described action to prevent his).
Sometimes the guys at the back are not to blame. There are times when people at the front start to brake too early, they realize that the guy behind is going to pass so they close the line. Closing and defending the perfect line is ok but when the guy from behind has started to brake egzactly where he needs to, he cant brake harder than he is and closing him is going to make him slam you in 99% of the time. In that case, the hiter is not to blame but they usualy are accused. The key in my oppinion would be to hold your line unles you are in the proces of overtaking.
Hmm... I have to say that I'm suprised. I'm at my summer house now and there is no dsl option here so i'm on modem and i can race more than 15 people without lag. Since you tryed only 4 servers, my guess is that the server ping was high every time. I sometimes race in the midle of the night (Europe) and most servers have high ping for me becouse most active ones are US or Australian and that's the only time when i get some lag issues. Try connecting to servers with under 300ms ping. Should work fine.
