Sorry if this is a dumb question I've never looked at open configuration tracks before. I copied the contents into the layout folder but the tracks don't appear in LFS? How do I access the tracks in the game?
Been away for a month what a nice surprise when I came back! Question for anyone since I upgraded I no longer see my mouse cursor in full screen mode. I need to SHIFT + F4 back to a window to make changes to settings for example anyone got a clue how to fix this?
Go into Task Manager and kill anything that is running that you don't need. The n tweak the graphics in the game (compress textures, LOD play around and test frame rate in game)
Is it a Microsoft Sidewinder? I was looking at my old one in the garage last night when I dug out my old DFP to set up a LAN in my place. I think I was told once that yes it can work with an adapter but there was something negative about it hence I went and got the DFP then the G25. Whatever you do trust me the experience is awesome with a good wheel (G25 or G27) Good luck
Thanks mate your a legend - Check and it works Just had a networking friend call me back too and said dont worry about the cable it will be fast enough locally over wi-fi Now to find the second wheel I have somewhere in a garage stacked to the roof with boxes Thanks again happy racing
Thanks Framaris I will give it a try - Do I need something called a Crossover cable or any additional hardware? Both computers access the internet wirelessly but are not "networked"
I have 2 computers in my house with LFS installed and unlocked on each. What I want to do is have them both set-up so that I can race against friends when they come over. When I tried to join twice I got the "User is already on line" warning. Upon searching through some threads on the forum I found that is apparently "legal" to do what I am trying to achieve but this must be done by setting up a LAN. I'm not really that technical but could anyone confirm what I want to do is possible and point me in the right direction as to how I would set up a LAN? Both computers are on a wireless network though not connected to each other (As you can guess I'm not that technical) - Thanks in advance Paul
I'm having a "similar" problem - I think it may have to do with your "Billion" router! I just bought one today and set it up and now no LFS! My problem is that I'm getting "Cant connect to Host" - Before with my NB9W I never ever had a problem. Now with this one I am getting issues (and driving me nuts since I've raced almost daily for 3 years!). I'm still scouring forums but my hunch it is "Billion" router related...
Thanks for that! Checked it out and yes its possible - Bit clunky to set up but once you have done it it's done. Now to find every current drivers helmet!
Quick question I couldn't see on here hope its not "too dumb"!!!. If I'm playing single player with the 22 2009 F1 cars is there any way to change the helmets to the real drivers helmets or I'm locked in with what I'm wearing?
How do I assign a key to post a pre-defined chat comment? Like when I am racing to hit a key quickly to say "sorry" or whatever to be polite (and not be distracted by it).
I finally sorted it out (with the help of SilverArrows77 - true legend) it was a thing in my router called "demilitarized zone" (DMZ) I had to put my IP address in there and then bingo! It was blocking inbund connections even though ports were open.
I have checked other threads but cannot find a solution to this. My friend can find me as a user online but when he goes to connect it says "failed to connect to host". The weird thing is he can connect to anyone elses games and so can I. I have tried turning off my firewall completely, turning off my virus scan completly but to no avail. On my router I have 63392 and and 29339 opened on my router for both TCP and UDP. I have also attached a screen grab of my game settings before I launch the game.
Public game (not dedicated server). I opened 63XXX and 29XXX (cant remember now Im on a different PC) for both TCP/UDP on my router (I think thats what its called)... Have it set to Auto for IP and using an Internet game. If he logs in he cannot see my game in the list. When he searches for me he can find me in my game but then it tells him something like "cannot connect to host".
My mate cant see the online game when I set one up. He is using one of those wireless cards on a laptop (like wireless everywhere) and when I contacted their tech support they said all ports are open with that type of system by default. I have my ports open on my router for the game but he cannot see my game in the list of online games (I know others can because I've had guys jump in and join when I have set up a game) - Any ideas anyone?

I'll throw my '2 cents' in on this I don't find spinning a problem at all...only when hit by other cars. Maybe I'm a freak but I have devoted my time on LFS for the BF1 (F1 freak) and worked out over time this ain't arcade and that set up makes a massive difference - massive. It's the most satisfying car to control - well in my opinion What gets me though is I am going 'flat out' against 'Pro-AI's I can win but when I race online some guys are a full 5 seconds in front of me on say basic BL GP even when they send me their setups!! That disturbs me a little but its my car of choice any day - adrenalin machine Anyway but back to the topic where do I find these fellow BF1 guys to race against and learn from - I don't mind doing licenses etc it would probably help.
I know I should check out the other cars - Just got hooked on 1st drive after looking for a decent F1 sim for ages BTW A guy loaned me a disc of rFactor to compare the F1 - I didnt rate it 5 laps then 'uninstall'
Thanks for the answers guys I was hoping the answer was 'hey man your looking in the wrong place"! but really I do think its the most challenging car in the game. Coming down from 300+ kph to anything else feels pedestrian!
I dont know if I'm missing something but whenever I go to play online there dont seem to be many races going on. There would usually be only 3 or 4 races I can join and then the only option for me in BF1 is Redline Racing 3 with a couple of other guys. Where are all the BF1 guys racing???
I have a mate who wants to play online but needs to organize internet a home - Any idea what the minimum speed would be to play online (assuming he played in low ping games)?
