No, literally, diesel engines do not have a throttle plate. Power is modulated by the amount of fuel injected into the cylinder. There is no throttle plate controlling the flow of air.
Consider the engine averages 7000RPM, that's about 116 revolutions per second, a run lasts 4.5 seconds, that's 466 engine revolutions under full power for the run, figure another couple seconds under full power for the burnout and you have it, 540 revolutions under full power for the burnout and the run.
But actually, there's a whole lot that you're missing without an Admin account, a lot of programs, especially games, won't even run. Even with a power user account, there's a lot of functionality disabled.
Why doesn't your dad want you to have an Admin account anyway, is he just worried you're gonna mess up the computer, or is it a punishment for something?
My dad never wanted me to have an administrator level account either, and I dunno why. I just went and bought my own computer after a while, that helped thigns a lot.
More power means more fuel is used, period. It's just math. A turbo doesn't convert air to power, it shoves more air into the engine so more fuel can be added while keeping the proper air/fuel ratio. More fuel=bigger explosions=more power.
A turbo engine may get slightly better mileage than a normally aspirated engine of the same power, but only because the N/A engine is likely to be larger in displacement.
Watching him compated to Travis Pastrana, who is a pretty decent rally driver, is just like night and day. It's absolutely amazing, I'd never seen that video before. Colin was just perfectly in tune with his car, always placing it in exactly the right spot. Pastrana was fighting with the car, still quick, but not nearly as fluid. Just look at the difference in lines on that tight left hand hairpin and the very first lefthander on the pavement, it's just amazing. That's a great video.
The Starion looks way more similar to the XR GT, and the Starion comes in turbo and nonturbo models, both 4 cylinders. The turbo is also widebody, whereas the nonturbo isn't. It's really almost exactly like the XR GT.
You're never too young to race. Heck, I started playing GPL when I was 12. I don't really see an issue with a lot of the younger racers here, a lot of them are faster than I am...
I have a VW GTI, I hope you've heard of those before. :P
There's actually a lot of cars that have drive by wire throttle, my dad's new car does too. His actually has electronic brakes too, and those don't seem too bad, it takes a couple times to get used to them, but then it's pretty natural.
Drive by wire steering would be really weird, but I'm guessing there's regulations in place so that won't happen, at least for a long time.
I've driven some cars that seem like that, but not all of them. From what I've read, it's actually a fuel saving measure, I'm not really sure why though.
A recent car, either a Mazda or an Acura, just had it's throttle behavior "patched" by the manufacturer to change that behavior. I read about that in one of the car magazines and found it amusing that they can do stuff like that now.
Yes it has a USB port, but no, the DFP won't work with it, I've tried. If you do want a wheel though, the actual Microsoft wireless FF wheel is pretty good.
I stil don't get why Mount Panorama is the best circuit ever, yeah it has a tight twisty hilly section, but so does the Nordschliefe, but it has a lot more.
Don't get me wrong, I like the Bathurst circuit, but I don't think it's the best ever.
I really hope you mean if you've had an automatic, you don't want another one..
My old car had an auto, and I told myself I'd never again get another one, the only cars I looked at to replace it had manuals, and I bought a car with a manual.
Well, my car has an electronic throttle, and I like the feel and response more than the old style cable operated throttle in my old car. I've driven cars with electronic braking too, and I haven't found it to be all that terrible, not quite the same feeling as normal brakes, but I honestly don't think most people could tell the difference.
What does an illuminated passenger room mean? My VW GTI has interior lights and gauges that light up at night, but I thought that was pretty standard...
I have no idea what RealFeel even is. I was just saying I suppose I should give it a try with GTR2 and GTL, although I'm not sure it even works with those games.
I wasn't playing the M3 game with RF either, just normal.
I just gave it a spin, and I actually thought it was pretty fun, best ISI based game I've played so far. I supposed I should dust off GTR2 and GTL and give the realfeel plugin a try.
I didn't really find any problems with understeer, the car actually felt fairly neutral. I could pretty easily steer it with the throttle, and even get the back end to step out trail braking into corners. It's no LFS, but feels pretty good to me.
