Moose has always sounded like a fan in this thread. Every fan has their right to voice their opinion, especially one that has followed the team for over two decades. But then again it was blueflame who posted it, the notorious jump to conclusions without actually reading the threads.

I have to agree about Kyrgiakos he was a rock at the back for us against spurs. His aerial ability stood out in that game especially considering spurs had good ol' crouchy up front. rafa will probably keep him on at wolves due to our low confidence, normally against 'lesser' opponents i'd say throw Agger on and exploit his piercing runs from defence and his deadly left foot.

Is it a new dawn? - well probably not just yet. We need to win a game comfortably first. If we put 4 past wolves on tuesday then yes we are back and lets keep that momentum like we did on the latter part of the 08/09 season.

About the superfan speech, hahah well i didnt mean to sound patronizing, although looking back it does read like that sorry . It was more that people make mountains out of mole hills, and through trouble we must stick together. That attitude was pretty much shared with all the lads at anfield.

Rafa has had his problems but nothing worth getting the boot for. Hes not great at transfers but people just read into the bad things - the keane affair was daft but we dont know the full story about that do we?. He brought Alonso, Torres, Garcia, Aurellio, Arbeloa, Mascherano, Benayoun, Reina, Agger, Skrtel... the list goes on. Look at where they were when they came to the team and look at where they are now.

Look at what he has setup in that background. Look at Melwood, look at the Academy.

His tactics are normally spot on, i remember reading something like 'liverpool dont have a plan B' in this thread which made me giggle. Liverpool have shown time and time again that in a shit match they can turn it around. Rafa is a master tactician, one of the best in the game, ask anyone in football (maybe not a dirty manc) and they will probably tell you the same. Not just with liverpool, look at his career at Valencia. Before you get on the bandwagon read the facts.

At the end of the day its easy to be a critic and to read into the bad things.

YNWA!

I thought i'd share this post with you, originally posted by davvo7 at R&W.

Quote :I have avoided coming on here recently due to the ignorant shite that seems to dominate most of the threads, but I am really glad I read this one. Some top posts, wish I was as eloquent.

I keep reading statements like, "I have a right to my opinion!" and that may be true, but nobody ever mentions the other side of that coin, what about your responsibilities?

My responsibility is to publicly support my club, always has been and always will be. I was lucky enough (or is it just old enough?) to have been in Rome and at Wembley and I, like many others was part of something you can't put into words during those times. Like it's already been said, I supported all the managers of the 20 years, even Souness but I never gave up hope that we could get back to those heights. It didn't happen.

Then Sr. Benitez started something, tackling years of inertia within our youth and reserve set up, instilling a sense of belief in good players that have made them world class players. I wasn't able to afford to go to Istanbul, but I unashamedly cried tears of joy that night, It was like being that kid again, sitting on that bleedin train on the way back from Italy, nothing mattered because we were the best team in the world. Rafa Benitez brought that back for me, and I cannot thank him enough for what he has done for my club.

To have stood up to the thieves and incompetants that infest my club, and to do so with grace, dignity and huge passion, he deserves the freedom of the city, never mind the vicious and unfounded criticism he faces on a daily basis - and from so-called LFC supporters. Some of you should be ashamed.

Times change, maybe I don't understand, or maybe I'm too old fashioned, but Sr. Benitez was bringing back a feeling that was missing from my club - it was about a city, it was about pride and not a global brand or profit margins. He has brought players from all over the world who understand what it means to be part of a unique club in a unique city. I can't really explain - Shanks knew, Sir Bob knew, Kenny knows; Rafa knows but he is up against people who don't. They don't understand how to support Liverpool Football Club, never will sadly. The only hope I have is when I read some of the posters who do know what I am trying to get at (unsuccessfully I think) - who have been around long enough to appreciate what we have in our manager, and just how you are supposed to behave if you profess to support this club. I got my football education in the 60's and 70's from lads who had supported us in the 2nd Division and watched a manager come in and change the way the club acted, from top to bottom. A period of massive upheaval that paved the way for a club that changed the face of football.

We are still in a transitional phase, with so much needing to be changed and if you think that happens overnight, or in 3 years then you are a knobhead. There is nobody better in the world to be in charge during this phase, but it needs everybody to do their bit - something that is woefully lacking, and something that is hamstringing Sr. Benitez.

Sr. Benitez, you are the manager of the greatest club in the world, and given the proper support, both inside and out, (and so many of the players need to take a long look at themselves this season), you could bring a new era of success that I dream of.

Stay strong and know that there are many many supporters who will back you 100%. I believe you can turn it around.

In Rafa we trust, you'll never walk alone.

Quote from The Moose :Just to say, if it were only last night then there wouldn't be a problem. It's been like this for the whole of this season.

6 months of poor results doesn't erase 5 years of progress.

Just be patient.

Rafa is a manager that understands LFC, he understands the fans and has the passion for the club. No matter how much money you throw about, you cant buy that.

We're also missing Glen Johnson, Reira and Mascherano. Take Insua from LB and stick Aurelio back there. Remove Lucas from the squad and send him to the reserves. Play Mascherano and Aquilani in the holding positions, Gerrad in the support role for El nino. Dirk out on the right. When that is restored only then will we see the results coming in.

Full paper licences for cars, motorcycles and mopeds normally run out on your 70th birthday. After that you must renew your licence every three years. You need to renew a photocard licence every 10 years, although your actual driving entitlement will normally be valid until your 70th birthday.

Quote from MadCat360 :Do I believe in God? I don't know, I can't tell you. But I do believe that there is more to the universe than the things we see, touch and smell. Be it a higher power (God), or some kind of new elemental entity that we have yet to name or quantify, but be it what it may, there is something out there affecting all of us on a level that we don't realize.

Esattamente!

Quote from Joe_Keaveney :
The problem with that is that the plane might be 5-6 miles down at the bottom of the Atlantic, so a) how do you hear a beacon which can't transmit to the surface and b) even if you did find it, how are you going to recover the box? Only very specialised robotic submarines and diving bells can go that deep I would imagine.

Indeed. The beacon range is somewhere around 2½mile and thats probably in perfect conditions. They say the sea around its last known position is around 14,000ft so its really pushing it to the limit.

This sex researcher phones one of the participants in a recent survey of his to check on a discrepancy. He asks the bloke, "In response to the question on frequency of intercourse you answered 'twice weekly'. Your wife, on the other hand, answered 'several times a night'."

"That's right," replies the bloke, "And that's how it's going to stay until our second mortgage is paid off."

Yeah, it transmits a pulse. Any naval units in the area can, as you say, put a mic in the water and try locate it. IRC the battery on the beacon only lasts for 3-4 weeks.

I also heard last night that the debris is spread over such wide area. They are starting to think that it actually disintegrated in the air rather than crashing into the see.

Not nice news at all.

Looks like a major storm caused the accident. Although we cant be 100% until they recover the BB. A bomb? Pilot error? the captain might not even been at the controls (quite common on long haul) although highly unlikely due to the magnitude of the storm they were heading into.

To me it looks like the plane was hit by lightning which fried the FBW controls. Maybe lightning destroyed the planes radar (as daft as it sounds, thats the weakest part of the aircraft) so they may have been flying blind into the storm.

Victoria de Barcelona!

Excellent football last night, the best team won by miles, they definitely made up for the poor semi final performance against Chelsea.

I don't understand what the ManU camp were thinking. They tried to play passing football against the best passing and possession team in the world and from the start you could see that it was not going to work. Sloppy passing in the midfield and not enough pressing of the barca players which in turn gave barca the time they needed on the ball to slow the game to their pace and play the way they wanted to play.

Barca had serious issues in defence and ManU failed to exploit that. They should've put Ronaldo on the wing and made his job for the night to get crosses into the box but that was non existent.

I think the bench is just as much to blame as the players on the field.

EDIT:Also if Fletcher had been playing they wouldnt have been any better, maybe its just my opinion but i dont see fletcher as being a threat at all. Yes he works and his possesion and passing is ok, but would he work well with Carrick in this game? both are anchor players, what United missed was the speed down the wings getting in counter attacks and stretching the already weakend defence, would fletcher provide this quality? i think not.
