Quote from Cue-Ball :Are you fricking kidding me? What kind of "decent view" do you think you get from a mirror in a race car? You can't see jack squat! The mirrors are small (to keep down drag) and flimsy (to keep down weight) and they vibrate like crazy. Let's not also forget that in the real world you would be wearing a helmet, balaclava, HANS device, etc. and would have a high-backed chair...all of which would even further restrict your view. If anything, the mirrors in LFS allow you to see way, way more than you would in real life.

By the way, this is an Internet forum. If you don't want to hear other people's opinions, I'm afraid you've come to the wrong place.

Get over yourself mate, it is still a bloody game and as such you should have the options that were in there before and make it accesible to everyone not just the geeks like you, and you were the one not recpecting my opion in the first place, so get a life....

Finished not replying to you again, your just not worth it.

Quote from Cue-Ball :This was removed for realism, and should stay as it is now. In real life you can't turn around during a race and look behind you. It's physically impossible because you're strapped in so tight.

Ditto for the digital speedometers. Most cars don't have digital speedometers, so the cars in LFS now don't either. You should be driving by feel, sound, and (if necessary) RPM...not the speedometer.

What an absolutely stupid reply, was I asking you? No, so leave you opinion to yourself, all said and done it is still a game and is supposed to be enjoyable to play, and if you don't want to use those options then don't, but if I and many others wish to then we should still have the choice, and when the realism lets me have a decent mirror to be able to see behind properly then your point maybe valid, but the game just doesn't allow a decent view through the mirrors like you get in real cars..........

Quote from Vince :Don't know if it's a big or not!

Looking left and right has changed to 45 degree instead of 90 degree.

Pressing both at the same time results in the 90 degree watching to a side, instead of looking backwards

yeah bring this back so I can look back using both paddles together, I have a G25 and with limited easily accessible buttons on the wheel itself, I use the paddles for left and right view and both together for rear view when I need a clearer view of who is behind me instead of trying to see in the mirror. Also bring back the digital speedo for all the cars, it is so much easier to read, I run LFS at 1600x1200, and it is near impossible to read the speedo accurately. I use the digital speedo to guage how a setup is going by being able to see the speeds more actuately through corners and so on.... So please bring these options back. Don't see why you have to take out good options, why not just leave them there so people can use them or not, give us the choices we expect ( saying this with the utmost respect to you guys )...please

Well nobody is seeing the actual point. The point is when LFS physics are up to real life then I would totally agree with the no rest at all. But as it stands at the moment if you just nudge certain walls or tryes (or cars for that matter) in just the wrong way you go flying, which if it happened IRL your car would not be thrown into the stratosphere. I have been in enduro's where I made one mistake and only a little one but because of LFS physics I ended up on my roof and could not continue, and to say the least that I was a little upset at LFS was an understatement, and if it is not rectified or the physics fixed then it is going to turn away a lot of fairly consistant racers, which I consider myself fairly consistant and usually manage to avoid incidents.

I am using the proper metal adapter plates for the Hyperstim.

Quote from tristancliffe :The G25 is rubbish for heel and toeing anyway, as the pedals are too far apart and positioned badly. In a real car you have the throttle 'up' position roughtly in line with 50% braking, so that when braking hard your foot finds it easy to blip the throttle. The G25 has both pedals in the same plane when 'up', so making your foot have to contort to heel/toe. Add into that a soft brake pedal (limitation of hardware at a sensible cost), and a HUGE gap between brake and throttle, means it's almost impossible to do without a lot of practice. I don't bother anymore most of the time, and I've been heel&toeing real cars daily (automatically) for more than 8 years.

What's wrong with you have you got baby feet or something, the pedals are a shit load closer than any car I use for bliping the throttle on down shifting, and I have been doing it a lot longer than you, as I have been driving for twenty years man. I do understand your gripe about the brake to throttle position it's not ideal but still very simple to do with the G25.
I have been left foot braking for so long in sim racing it just takes a bit of time to get used to the different pressure needed with your right foot.

Quote from bobvanvliet :A replay compare function would be cool, but it could also be done by splitscreen in stead of ghosting (that might work around the patent issues mentioned in the ghost car topic).

I know I am a bit late here with this, but I was just thinking about it and thought I would do a search for the topic. I think it would be awesome to have a split screen function for watching in particular other peoples hotlaps compared to your own, so as you can see where you are losing time compared to them, it would be so much easier than having to watch your replay, then load up theirs, and try and remember what you were doing at a particular corner.....

So is this idea had any thoughts from the developers yet? No replies in this thread for awhile, so I just thought I would open it up again...

Quote from Andreas Grauel :Why a smartass? I just wanted to help u.. when u delete the cfg.txt etc then LFS will create a new default CFG as soon as u start it again and then calibrate everything again. Sorry that i wanted to help ya... wont try to do this anymore!

I hope Scawen will delete these posts cause they arent really related to the patch.

Because you did sound sarcastic, I am sincerly sorry if I took it the wrong way. But you have now helped me after re-reading your post I have deleted the correct file, and now it does work thank you so much, I was looking at the files on the misc folder relating to controllers, and not the main cfg file in the root directory of LFS..... I feel like a complete tosser now for saying that, I really hope you do accept my my utmost sincere apology....

Quote from Andreas Grauel :Try to delete your config files and recalibrate everything. I had to recalibrate everything as well. It works for everybody but not for you... so i guess it is not LFS fault.

And what does everybody have a Hyper then do they....man I hate people trying to be a smartarse, when all I want to do is find out why my controller doesnt work now, but does on the earlier patch, which I have just tried because I still have a copy of it on my system....

Quote from Scawen :Have you tried "recalibrate axes", "remove deadzones" and "calibration lock" ?

They are visible down at the bottom when Axes are selected.

Other than that I have no idea, the controller changes are mainly about where the info is stored, nothing changed in the way axes are read and those values are processed.

Hi Scawen Tried all that and nothing works....but why does it work in patch P but not the newer patches????

I am having an issue with my Hyper Simulator Wheel and pedals, for some reason in these later patches, from maybe patch S onwards, I haven't used the wheel for awhile but my son is getting into it so I set it up for him, but you just can't drive the game the wheel flickers all over the place while accelerating, but stops when I backoff the throttle, I even brought brand new steering pot and throttle pot and put them in, they are perfect in the Hyper Stim Menu system and calibration. If I use an earlier version of the game the wheel is fine, I tried it on Patch P and had no issues with the wheel, but go back into Patch U and it plays up. And also why doesn't LFS keep my settings from my Hyper menu like any deadspots I put in or my range changes???

Quote from TagForce :I have no idea if they were the same as the MOMO pots... I've never owned a momo. But yeah, they are different pots, and they are fastened differently... But nothing worth changing the price for... (maybe $0.03 extra cost). In fact... My old pedals were exchanged for the newer ones at no cost at all.

$0.03 lmfao, youv'e never had to buy any pots before thenillepall , and down here we don't have different priced DFP's anyway. And why worry about the price of the dearer one, after doing a currency conversion it is still $150 cheaper than what we can buy it for in our dollar.......Waiting for the next smart arse comment...

Quote from TagForce :LMAO "technically improved" in this case meaning they fastened the pots better so the pedals aren't so sensitive to lose their calibration.

Well while your laughing so hard there mate, can you tell me what the first version of pedal pots where like, because if they were the same as the Momo ones, then the new version is improved, because I have had my second DFP pedals opened and they are a much better looking pot than the couple of Momo's that I have fixed. And yeah my second DFP, the first one, the pedals played up on GT Prologue, but not on GT3, but then for some reason the FFB died, after a few months, so I took it back and got a new one, and it has been going for ages, the throttle got a bit gittery, so I pulled it apart and cleaned the dust off the pots and put it back together, and haven't had a problem for ages. And by the way the Momo's and the DFP's pedals are easy to pull apart and clean and put back together, I have fixed a couple of Momo's for a mate, and they calibrate perfectly afterwards, and run smooth.
