I was in the same spot when I was younger, took the easy way out and refused to go to school and regret it every single day now. It's hard to do but you need to find a way to beat it. Mine was a combination of severe depression and some other stuff, but definately see a doctor you feel comfortable talking to. Since the problem is never obvious.
Just stick with it because if you give up you'll regret it. I do.
Edit: My MSN is in my profile if you need someone to talk to about this, since you pretty much described what I went through and I might be able to help.
Excuse the bad driving and the music. Had issues with fraps and sound for some reason. Just mute it if you don't like it.
Really getting into iRacing, even though I mostly just play offline in practice sessions when I get time it's still a really solid sim. Shame it's expensive, but meh, you get what you pay for. Will gladly pay for good-quality content which it's currently delivering. Really should try online sometime, though...
Was there on Sunday too, very good day out. Weather was nice got a slight bit sunburnt. Never been before so didn't know what to expect but I'd definately go again. So much to see/do for the entire day. Money well spent.
Yes kid you hate anything that isn't LFS. We know, thanks.
This game is fun and I haven't regretted buying it. No major bugs, it looks nice. Sound is a bit nasty on some cars but I'll live with it.
Makes for some good close racing too which is what alot of people are after. Prefer it to GTR2 anyway, something about that game didn't feel right to me.
Edit : Rts, kid says this about every sim that's released. So.. probably better off to ignore it.
I personally think steam is great. I think I can live with 8MB's of memory gone when I can buy, download and run a game in under an hour without moving.
1) Click the car, go to group (top bar) and click ungroup. Then select all pieces of the wheel including brakes etc and then just rotate it.
2) There are various LFS sites with different rims for renders, can't remember where though.
3) Yes.
4) *Guys
And another of Monkays, spent 5 minutes wondering why the rear brake pad was ugly..Only to realise it was the reflection on the wheel and not the brake pad I was looking at
There are no lights in the scene, also it's mostly the paint material that makes it look like it does. Not just a simple diffuse/falloff.
If you look on the last page you can see a brazil render from me about half way down. Brazil is 200x easier and faster but I believe vray has the potential to look better in the end. Just depends really, if I want a quick render I use brazil, throw a scene together and hit render. If I want to spend time on a scene I use vray. Haven't rendered in a while, decided to give it a go again the other day, still a fun little hobby.
Still alot of learning to do. Mainly how to make glass that looks perfect on a sphere AND perfect as a window, and not just the first part. I had to add a slight fog colour to even make it look like there was a window there..hmmph
For brazil scenes all I do is use a curved plane, a circle above the car with the brazil utility material and shove a car under it with simple materials and it usually comes out ok. With vray I always put a ton more time into it, usually atleast an afternoon since test renders on my current PC are painfully slow
Not alot really, you can probably notice the sharpen though. On second thoughts I shouldn't have done that.. Original below.
Oh also I use vRay
Basically removed the speckle..a few touchups elsewhere but not exactly major editing. Not happy with the windows and the wheel material could probably be less liney, works ok on other wheels but the XRT wheels look ugly with it.
Another one of yours, these take ages with my settings which is why I'm doing 1 at a time. Usually 1 hour to render than up to 30 mins photoshopping to smooth out some rough edges.
People are high bidding but are never going to pay just to mess up the people who are selling for insane prices.
I doubt a PS3 has been eBayed and actually bought by someone willing to pay for more than ~$1300. Maybe occasionally more.
Still too much for a console, but..people are nuts. PS3 looks ok but I can't see why it's something to camp outside a shop for 2 days, or spend over $1000 on.
Slightly less...biased, list than Tristans (Although I think he was joking..or atleast hope), but mostly the same

Project Gotham Racing 3
Test Drive Unlimited

Sorry for the crap wheels, I switched computers and when I transferred my scenes over something must have gone wrong since they crash max. Also I only have time to do the FZR.
Yea seemed a bit strange that they only uploaded the patch to free upload sites, only had luck with the uploading.com mirror which actually went nice and fast at 700kb/s.
