A delay until restart (after a race has completed) would be good so you can get a drink, have a pee, whatever and know you will not miss the start.....
Having to rejoin (shift-r or another key) would be good as long as theres a display showing who's in/out..... Something like next race grid.....
This would help to stop the problems where someone has gone away / switched focus etc and is an obstacle on the starting grid.
You are not trying hard enough
I can reproduce it on two different machines with different cards and drivers
and, for me, once it happens you cannot do anything apart from close LFS.... sometimes only with task manager.
Reproduced with similar steps....
Make sure you have a few other programs running ..... winamp, explorer window, e-mail prog and firefox here!
run lfs - go windowed..... make it 1/2 screen so you have room
LFS focused - press shift-F4 and at same time click on one of the background programs.... explorer for me.....
works every time, as long as the timing is right
Edit: I can make it happen, 1 in 3 tries .... now..... practise makes perfect Maybe we could have a black screen ladder ? It would be nice to be the best at something

The menu music is still playing, but I cannot get anything on the screen now, and I can't seem to click anything either!
alt-F4 stops the music...... screen still there...
Can't close on the 'X' or from taskbar.
Closed it from the task manager.
I've never had any problems with any patch regarding a blackscreen, so this is obviously a very rare occurrence unless you do this routine.

It all seems to be working fine here..... apart from a lot of lag, but I guess you will get that with this many connections

Any chance someone can mirror this patch somewhere else and make it something other than 7-zip..... I cannot unpack this file and have had similar problems with other 7-zip archives..... even though I have 7-zip installed ?!

I've already had my moneys worth of excitement/fun/thrill whatever you want to call it.... and so have the people that moan all the time..... you tried the demo and bought an s2 license because of it.... so you have no right to moan about anything..... s2 has been improved since first alpha and it has cost you nothing more....
If s3 comes out and it's not what you wanted, then don't buy..... I certainly wont if it's not an improvement on what we currently have.

They are great computers, but they do not compete with Windoze for games
I hate windoze...... Linux is much better.... so are most other O/S's....

Using Zen Internet as well..... no problems here with patch U30 or any other U patch I've installed
The only connection issues I've ever had were with my old router that decided it was going to play up after 2 years use. Disconnects, bad throughput etc.... This was a netgear router/modem and if you look in their forums theres quite a lot of problems like this.
Factory Reset, firware upgrade etc made no difference...
So I bought a 'proper' named router...CISCO and never looked back. Had 0 problems since!
Make sure you check the support forums of your modem manufacturer... it just might solve some of these issues

Setup the trust fund with Danowat as compensation for this angelic act by TinyK......
I'm sure people will contribute as long as they know it will be policed properly.
For the fund to work, Scavier would have to be on-board so that they can ban abusers at the master server and allow for the fund licenses to be incremented. Either that or we'll need a site with details of license updates so that admins can unban when they are asked to by the new user of the ID.
Hopefully Scawen or Victor might comment ?

If there were a fund setup I would gladly put in a pound or two as I'm sure others would...
But there must be a way to police it...
Maybe the fund would buy an amount of licenses.... say 10
The 'fund' would manage the accounts by keeping the web passwords and giving out the game passwords to the lucky few....
If there's abuse of the licenses then the game password can be changed and given to another user who cannot afford a license ....
To keep the devs happy I'd think an amount of months license should be the limit and then the fund racer should buy a full license for themselves and the license given out again....
