Yes, and my bicycle 'eats' 2 donuts / 100 km... I think these cars are a class smaller than the Prius, but maybe I am wrong, I really don't know the Prius size in life.
Glad to hear this mate . My system is working nicely too with the old drivers. ( to the other problem: try spybot to check if there are some spyware on your pc, those can cause internet drops too )
@mamynast: try some older drivers to your mx400, for example the driver I use should work with your gfx card too... or is there any news in your case?
hmmm...maybe the 6600GT is the "minimum" (I mean not as old as Nick's FX or my gef4) card that works well with new drivers too. Nick, what was the other card number you tried? Some 6 series card I think. If it was a 6600 too, than forget this comment .
So the necessary ingredients for this freezing cocktail are: Athlon CPU, Award/Phoenix BIOS and/or some older gfx cards than 6600... and (my opinion) a new gfx driver...
Nick have you tried with another old driver?
I am always looking into this thread in the hope of good news . So best wishes .
(( info: the 56.xx driver still working well with my gef4, I will post if there is something wrong with it, but it seems that it was the solution in my case ))
ATI users with this problem, have you tried an older catalist? Because Radeon 9600 or 9550 is about the same "old" card as my gef4, maybe worth a try to install a ~2 years old driver.
Today another 3 hours (off and online too) without freeze... I can suggest to the Geforce 5- users to test the driver I linked... Maybe I am lucky that there are no freezes, but maybe not... Give it a try. (I used driver cleaner before it.)
I checked it too in the past, I am always holding hard the wheel, because after the lockup, it often kicks, due to a collision . Online I am always dropped from the server during this time. One time I checked the replay (it was a OLFSL race), and yes, my car was a big LAG , and disconnected.
[earlier when I was not knowing that the game will start again, I just pressed reset, because I thought it is real freeze.]
Bad news for me, that could mean that Nick is right and not the gfx drivers are behind of this. ( yes I know that Micha told that He has ATI too )
Maybe ATI and nVidia too made the new drivers not fully compatible with "older" video cards.. Who knows... I am still hoping that the old driver solves the problem...
Thanks. I have installed on saturday a 56.72 driver, and it seems that my problems gone, but I dont want to drink before , so I am still testing it... :X I will post here if it is still ok after a few days... fingers crossed I tested it about 3-4 hours, and no stuttering yet.......
