I always drive with the goal that a multiplayerdemo will always be to my advantage incase of trouble. For me it's aggressive but extremely clean.

Unfortunately it's a gamble. Not too seldom I find myself off the road, outcrashed by someone who didn't check mirrors or the sides...
.. but with a demo that prooves me right. :munching_

If it's the case that playing LFS can get your FF wheel destroyed it should not be up to the serveradmins. LFS should have (atleast optional) protection against this. Seriously, the fact that you can stop in the pit, go to the bathroom and take a dump then come back and see your wheel burning?
Seriously. I know LFS has one of the best FF simulation ever made but sometimes realism goes too far. I fear the day I find a crack in my monitor.

I doubt it has to do with a boostbutton. I am pretty sure the sudden movements are a result of the clientside precalc where the car *should* be (to save bandwidth) simply doesn't match the actual position sent.
But thats just my logic. I really don't know how frequent the positions are updated. Someone with knowledge of the networkcode could probably answer that.

It's there. EULA is a binding contract. Use it!
To the rest of the community, tell other about this important point in the EULA. Put it in welcomemessages or whatever. It will atleast scare the "curious cheaters" away. The worst kind of cheaters if you ask me. The ones that downloaded a cheat to try it but decides to keep it. Like scriptkiddies. It'll keep them from trying.

Kinda narrowsighted for a moderator I think. However I don't agree at all. As someone wise said, "you cannot base security on the base that no one knows about it". Another wise man said, in jurassic park, that "life will find a way".
We all have the right to know what's going on in our community. Only then can we all help out to prevent this from happening. And it also puts pressure on the devs to prevent it from happening.

Ofcourse I'm not expecting or wanting details. But we have to be enlighted of the current dangers.

LFS with a handcontrol just makes me sick. I can agree to a XBOX port if the following is true:

* Failure to detect a wheel should erase bios, trash the TV and blow up the XBOX right in the players face.

A bit harsh maybe. Maybe I like LFS too much for my own good.

For some reasons servers located in .NL are best as a common playground. (a tip for you who lives there)
Best pings for everyone. (I'd know that after all my years with Counter-strike and Battlefield).

Swedes as it seems have rather bad pings against UK servers. Also swedes are lucky enough to have very good broadband and every other person can throw up their own server anytime at home.

So. For swedes 8 GPB is simply outrageous. But luckily. There is other countries than sweden. Good luck tho. I love to see new companys lead by young people. Old people always screw things up or is slow.

Edit! Maybe you should provied a couple of IPs your-maybe-to-be customers can ping and trace some routes to.

Well. It's there in S2 aswell. However it has to be enabled I don't know but it's there for me.
Maybe 'N' should do the trick?

Now if there was a way to only play it once.
I would LOVE to have this played when first entering a race but not looped.

In those cases you should remember to save replay. (by pressing 2)
There is nothing better than a demo to really proove your innocense.
Replays is also good if you think a person should be banned. Admins are not always avaible but if they get a demo they could ban them later.

But hey. The best way to stay unbanned is to treat your fellow racers with respect, drive clean and use common sense.

* First corner isn't that important. I enjoy LFS more when I get to hunt!!
* Commit yourself to say sorry if you realize that you made a mistake.
* Don't flood alot of text.
* New on the track/car combo? Stay behind and learn the moves then kick ass!

In sweden the celebration takes place at the 24:th of december. And our week starts at monday. And we use the metric system. And Celsius rules our temperature. We love to eat pork. And we drive our cars on the correct side of the road.

Oh and no. I will not sit infront of my computer the 24:th.

Unless all three developers die at the same time I'm pretty sure It'll all work out just fine. Altough I don't mind introducing one more dedicated coder to the project.

By using a wheel you have more fun and most of all, honor the developers by using their product as intended.
