I don't see a problem with adding a server function to disable some driving aids to even the playing field, it would help with closer racing in leagues or one of event where some certain combo doesn't suit a certain rig configuration (FOV became a server side option which is hardly ever used today) .
Regarding the use of handbrake to match some guys who use it me and some other people just flip down the gears to combat this which requires more skill then just pressing a button since timing it wrongly can over rev the engine and cook it. But i figure this method would become standard if handbrake is disabled on server side unless a rule is added to stop simulating the mentioned method in league races.
If you're revising the rules have a look at banning the use of the handbrake since it's been abused for far to long now in lfs to get a faster lap time or to allow people to throw the car into corners that they would normally run wide for plus since it allows people to use to gain a tighter line if they have missed the apex on turn in.
But i know people will just say why bother since the devs have allowed it to be used this way for so long but i've seen it used in XRR/FZR now and single seater FFS it's just no one see's it as an issue at the moment because it's become so normal to use it now.
I see discussions going on here and the only thing i can think of is top tier drivers always come and go, when i was around daily Mercury, Cyber and a few others i can't remember the names off was always the team to beat and had the best drivers around but they all moved on from LFS so will others and i don't see the point in complaining about it... i was around when proper endurance racing in LFS was a thing, Masters of Endurance was a thing around 5+ years ago, good times that was.
I'm sorry for going off topic but does lfs actually support ultra widescreen when in spectator mode as the black bars on the edge of the screen seems like it makes lfs feel old tech.
The problem is other than Rockingham being added not to long ago people are finding it hard to get motivated to play LFS any more with the current cars and tracks they haven't been much change on that side since S2 got released hell the only servers i see populated nowadays are the xfg/xrg on track rotation and the tracks on there are the same ones over and over, i'm not having a rant that we need new content but i'm just stating that even if you do sell more licenses which is a good thing but it's very hard for new racers to stick to lfs in the long term to build their overall speed up which takes a very long time and alot of dedication which is not going to be easy since there isn't many servers up running all type off combos.
Doesn't matter what people are going to say on this subject it's a lose lose situation all round for everybody, LFS devs have lost out on licence sells with all those players playing the cracked version and those cracked "racers" who have been living in there own bubble for years playing an illegal version off the game think is was going to last well the bad news is everything doesn't last for ever so just live with the face that you have lost you server and move on with your it, if LFS meant that much to those players then just save up and buy the game it might take awhile but other people in your situation in other countries have managed to buy the game.
If you have a pc/laptop/tablet/phone and an internet connection then i don't see paying the price of a game that you have played for to many hours to count out off enjoyment a problem.
It's not a speed cheat, it's when a car is very low on fuel like 0.01 left in the car so the car does a teleporting back and forwards effect which has been around for years, it happens in this replay aswell right at the end of the race... watch B2R St0rm
If only there was a sub-forum for videos, oh look there is (https://www.lfs.net/forum/21-Movies) now please post them there from now on it isn't hard to be honest but you just post in GD so that more people see your videos.
As Yisc[NL] has said there are unoffical car mods out there on the web but they do not work online because as soon as you join a server you will get a JOOS error (i might be wrong) resulting in you getting kicked from the server for having an invalid .VOB file (basically there are car files).
From the videos i have seen with people driving with Oculus it might take new racers quite a while to get upto some sort of speed when driving online so the only advice i can give you if to take it very easy when you are getting lapped, i would say stick with the slower cars (XFG/XRG) for now until your are confident that you are staying with people that are at your speed without causing to chaos for other people around you who are faster.
