Well I still want it as an OPTION in case I'm running a rally server. I hate when people tell me how I have to play the game. The more options, the better you will suit your audience. If the option is unpopular then it will show when there are no servers using it.
And I don't need the car reset to a misc location... just roll it over. I agree that teleporting the car back to the track is just wrong.
I just had my car taken away by Officer ZAK because he was sideways on the road and when I stopped a guy hit me from behind and into him.
Officer ZAK and Officer MaxH refused to make it right and threatend to ban me if I didn't stop pleading my case.
I spent so much time trying to get that car, it's really ruined the experience for me to be bullied by the people who are supposed to keep the peace instead of causing crap. I used to think this was a fun and community driven app but like always, a few bad apples have ruined it for the rest.
Checking in...
Since my Windows re-install I've had no problems. (doesn't mean I won't but I've played for a few 30min. - 1hr stints with no problems). I'm getting 130fps. I'm still using the same LFS files just had to unlock S2 again.
If this stays sable I guess a bunch of guys get to say "I told you so".
Thanks for the End it All app.
I've just re-installed windowsXP Pro so I'll have to give it some time to test. If it occurs again, I will try that app.
My problem had changed somewhat(before this re-install); I still had some stutters (svchost.exe was hogging CPU) but I was also getting a freeze for 10-20 seconds very infrequently. Unfortunately it happened while I was running 3rd in the Chops Sunday Cup last night so I just stood on the brake and miraculously nobody hit me and I stayed on the run-off at an Aston Hairpin.
Hey guys,
I was having the same problem with Nero. I uninstalled Nero Scout and thought my worries were over but then after about 1/2 hour of pain free playing with 100fps the studdering started again.
When I jumped out to the Task Manager I saw a svchost.exe process going nutz on my system. This is a fresh install of windows using my existing install of LFS.
I need to do more testing but one thing I had was Nero7's Nero Scout running in the background which was crap. I got rid of it.
I did a few laps last night and didn't have any studdering but I need to do a more thorough test.
Plus I took the /usepmtimer switch back off of the boot.ini file.
Ok, MS actually suggested adding the /usepmtimer
I did that. No difference... except maybe worse.
Now I quickly went to the task manager when it got bad and the svchost.exe was using 80% of my cpu. What's up with that?
And there's 7 instances of svchost.exe running at the same time.
I just found this thread. I'm having the same studdering problem with my video. My biggest problem is I'm not sure if it's patch V or the new HD (320GB SATA), Video Card (7900GS) and Processor (ATHALON 64 4000+) I just put in.
The game was flawless with my old stuff so I don't know why I'm having problems now.
I agree! Buy it up. It's not very expensive... especially if you do a $$$ per hour of play time calc.
This game has cost me about $0.001 an hour.
It's well worth the purchase.
Heck, I'd buy it again if it helped the Dev's work faster! You can quote me on that one! S3 me anytime!
I came home from work early yesterday and ruined Christmas. My wife had left it just inside the door when she got home. She let me have it ... then she let me have it early.
I LOVE IT!
Still trying to figure out how to get some more buttons close by. I have not been able to set up the shifter due to the custom race seat setup I have (need to modify). Currently I've got a PS2 style logitech controler zip tied to the bottom wheel spoke.
I did test the shifter and it works well. As Tweaker said, I really only see using it for playing around (unless we could get a series going that everyone is using the gate shifter).
The quality of this product is outstanding, I did have one little bur on my left paddle but nothing a little filing won't fix.
Didn't yo mama tell ya, if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. I didn't force you to read this.
I was simply making an observation, that the only "Improvements and Suggestions" issue that other games have over LFS are stated above (though the other games fall way short in the areas that really matter).
And if it has been brought up before then I'll bring it up again... and again... and again until it has been added.
I have a GeForce 6600GT OC and I can't get anti-aliasing to do anything whether I set it globally or with a profile pointing to LFS. I've set it all over the place but all I get in game is jagged edges.
