Thanks for the positive feedback so far. Yes, custom-made chicanes are a bit tricky for endurance races because one can't design proper run-off areas and is limited by the available track width - at least it isn't as dramatic if those notorious barriers are used in 'safe' sections only. Let's say if you think that the third AS3R chicane isn't suitable for your event, simply delete it from the layout file. That is one reason why I released this pack as public domain after all.
because some time has passed since changes or additions have been made to LFS' tracks apart from open configurations, racing the same combos can become a bit monotonous. That's why I made several layouts based around my anti-shortcutting pack to freshen things. Although they have been designed with maximum safety (within the current limitations of the ingame editor) in mind, it is recommended to use them in organized events or league races only.
I release this pack as public domain, however if you choose to use one of the layouts, please link to this thread in your league calendar.
Kind Regards

Because modulating the brakes manually can be more challenging and enjoyable than to just let a computer do the job. I don't have a problem with ABS itself (useful help for mouse users), but for me it takes away a part of simulated driving excitement and I don't understand why Scawen hasn't implemented a server option for ABS on/off yet.
That is because the onboard computer warns you that a safety feature is disabled (by setup or unavailability in Z0), much like the TC indicator behaves on FZ5 since patch T.
some of you are certainly familiar with or annoyed by shortcutting cars in online races, which in case of KY3/R and its well-known bugs even renders comparability between WR and PB times useless. To address this problem and stop people from exploiting track design flaws, I decided to overhaul existing layouts from my previous events, add missing ones and offer them to the community. You may or may not agree with every modification, but this pack is based on experience as both driver and race administrator, tested and meets my current layout requirements (practicability, safety, appearance). It is aimed primarily at leagues and organized events - higher-standard public servers should also work, but unlike e. g. the former CTRA, not all shortcuts are completely blocked to preserve run-off areas.
Except for KY1/R (alternative), open configurations and the dragstrips, all tracks plus reverse configurations are included and follow a standardized design that should be clear from this picture. This layout pack is released as public domain, so feel free to use and adapt it to your needs.

since LFS' music is very enjoyable, I would really like to add it to my game soundtrack collection - however, the tracks are encoded using an 124 to 174 kbit/s bitrate, so I would like to ask if there are 256kbit/s+ versions für the music addon and unbended mind.ogg from S1 available? The forum search didn't returned useful results.
Kind Regards
PS: An official LFS soundtrack on CDDA would be a nice addition to the shop!
I'd like to apply for a LFSF subforum of our LXO league including restricted mod rights for me and troy - start date has been set and sign-ups are already running.
Can you provide a screenshot of your issue, please? I'm using NT5.0 plus Y10 and cannot see anything unusual with 'Options -> Game'. The selection of Chinese, Japanese etc. after installing all language options (control panel) works without problems as well.
I found one: add some AI cars, close plus start LFS again, load any track that supports bots and press "/" (e.g. for /clear) and it should show the error message.
