In my opinion, Insim killed the fun. Since all these servers with "addons" cropped up, you're forced to do specific things, pretend to be this and be penalised for that, or have to work your way up the ranks or earn cash, what complete bollocks, this is supposed to be a racing sim, not a World of Racecraft MMO.

I havn't played much -online- on LFS for over a year, simply because of all that. Before that, there were always servers offering good racing, especially back around the X12 patch. I used to -race- alot in demo mode with the XRT, even though I had an S2 licence, it was great fun, but then it got replaced with FBM, which I'm not a fan of, and that kind of killed the fun as well for alot of people. These days, all insim, no real racing on simple basic servers, so I play other games, and keep an eye on the forum... waiting until something fun comes back to LFS.

That's my opinion anyway...

The easiest way is to make an ISO image of you original Windows CD/DVD, and keep it on your host PC. Then, simply add a virtual CD-Rom drive to your virtual machine, pointing to that ISO. Make sur the virtual machine is set to boot to the CD before the hard drive or network (that'll be the DHCP you mentioned, looking to a PXE server), and it'll start up and install from your disk. Then all you need to do is put in your genuine serial number, and it should activate the same way as a normal PC would...

I'm guessing he means 6.0 in the Windows Vista / 7 performance rating...

I had a fresh Z26, then I installed the full Z27 over the top, everything worked fine.

I just installed the Z25 to Z28 patch over the top... and now when I click on a button I get :

Sound error (Play:B -2005139406)

UAC is usually more of a pain in the arse that it's worth anyway.

It's the first thing that gets desactivated on my PC's ...

Works fine in Windows Server 2008 SP2 64 Bit and Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit.

I don't like the "C:\Games\Live For Speed" as default though...
Uninstalling doesn't remove the Games folder, just the lfs one...

It should be program "C:\Program Files (x86)\Live for Speed" like the others said.

Also, the manual shortcut has no icon?

Same problem for me, changed the password, and... well, I'm here, so...

Numberplates are cool, could do with having the choice of country though...

Like the new wheels too, and the server list, what an improvment!

Gai, on the http://www.frh-team.net/reglapper/ page, would it be possible to put the version of the LFS server? For example, after Ver " 5.6.4 ", another column, LFS " Z " or Y16, or X10, or ... just an idea, to see what people are using Lapper with.

Nothing wrong with a DOHC, mines got fast road cams, polished/ported head, steel head gasket, big injectors, ngk sparks, powerchip, large air filter, straight through exhaust, etc. I'd have a DOHC over a Pinto any day, lol. As for the flamer kit, that's turned off 99.9% of the time.
