I was playing with Midtown Madness and DTR (Dirt Track Racing) late 2002 / early 2003. At the time there was talk of cheaters in MM, searching the net I came across a discussion on a team forum for MM about the cheaters. Looking through the forum I found a brief mention of LFS and link a to the demo. Downloaded, played offline for a bit but never got into it. Sat on my hard drive for a few months, finally signed up on RSC. I think it was late 2003 before I really got into LFS heavy, never looked back.
DWB knows We've done this running FOX on the oval for some great racing. The server-side option for a fixed setup would be the way to enforce the setups, if it would / could ever be implemented. With the only options to adjust are steering, brake force and fuel load.
So..... If I'm battleing you for position, last turn - last lap. I dive to the inside and have the line, I WIN, cause you know you're beat and will just give up.
HU? You're either so slow someone can pass you on the outside OR you're passing on the inside. You know there's another car there either way.
And if you know someone is there you just run them off, drive like you own the track cause you commited to the turn??? STUPID, never heard of that in any form of racing.
Some ppl are just fast typers, I can only get out a few words durring a race other than what's bound to the chat keys. Also depends on the car/track combo too... UF1 on the oval I ussualy go make a sandwich durring the conversation
A true driver ranking system would be nice but I don’t think you can base it on what you have there, good attempt, but not right. There are too many variables, car/track/race length/# of opponents/opponent skills/etc-etc. As been said, some ppl just go roundie round for hours on end racing against stupid AI or alone just to boost their LFSW rankings, means nothing of their skills.
If you look at LFSW stats you will find a comprehensive record of every race that every driver has ever been in since mid 2003, it’s all there if you really want to try and decipher it into a real ranking system.
Keep at it, I don’t think anyone has seriously given it a go.
