For a n00b like me who after 8000 miles still can't drive an XFG on BL GP under 1:35 a new combo every one race would result in my head exploding all over my wheel from information overload...!!!
If I was to buy one it would be the white baseball shirt with blue sleeves.Why.?The other designs are basically boring in my humble opinion. One piece of merch I would buy that I don't see would be a black baseball cap with the LFS blue/yellow/white logo front of cap and the LFS website URL on the back of the cap just above the size adjuster... or similar.
As a complete n00b in LFS (despite having S2 license for a year now), I'm really liking the STCC servers because of the frequent course changes.I race in the XFGTi 90% of the time I play online and due to the fact I can't play regularly (some of us racers have jobs with long hours and/or take us away from home alot.!!) enough to get good enough to drive competitively,STCC are providing the kid of variation a part time racer like myself can benefit from.I've learnt more in my past 3 sessions online about the track layouts than I have in 12 months of jumping servers and having to switch to cars I can't handle yet,so if you are what you drive then, yep I'm a pregnant rollerskate.
Well tamarillo I gotta hand it to you for making your discovery concerning the lateral space around the angle encoder and for photographing the parts in question in order to possibly help other Formula Force GP users in the LFS community who would otherwise have remained oblivious to this matter. You r0ck dude.Thank You.
I'm pleased to post that after adjusting the groove width with a bit of glue and a small cut of firm (but thin) cardboard*** , reassembling the wheel and running a few short tests with LFS , GTR 2 demo and Flatout , in all 3 cases I noticed almost immediately how much more accurately the wheel responded in the games aNd enabled me to lap smoother and quicker than I have been previously. So in my own experience this has worked out just as it did for tamarillo making me one happy bloke who is now gonna waste the rest of his day rediscovering LFS all over again.!! sWeEt.!!! :lfs:
I'd seriously recommend that all owners of this wheel who are confident enough to open up their wheel do this small modification.YOU will notice an improvement in the wheels feel ingame pretty much straight away I'm sure of it just as tamarillo and myself did when we tested out.. :auto: Wicked.!! :eclipseeh
***The juicy fruit wrap didnt do it for me.!!!Lol.!!
I find there is a little bit of play between the wheel and its casing , personally it doesnt really bother me.ForceFeedback wouldn't be able to do it's job properly if the whole unit was rigid I wouldnt have thought... What I know about FF Hardware though is questionable..LoL.!! :davosmili
...How the hell did you notice that.??LoL.!! Well, I'm glad you did cos I've just took my wheel apart and noticed exactly the same thing.the groove is wider than the nose... I got my loctite out and a juicy fruit wrapper to hand so here goes... Time for some 'width adjustment'.!! I'll post back when I'm done to let you know if it worked for me as it indeed did for you.Aight.. :rally_dri
A Buffer Overflow Vulnerability has been found in a range of D-Link routers. D-Link has apparently issued new firmware to resolve the problem, so if you own a DLink router check the D-Link Support Site to see if one is available for your router. The routers affected are listed here
Microsoft's Service Pack Roadmap shows that Service Pack 3 (SP3) for Windows XP is indicated as likely to be released in the 2nd half of 2007. It seems like the only reason why Herr Gates is stalling this important update for XP for so long is solely to encourage 'tHe eNd uSeR' (yeah thats the likes of us mere peasants..) into the early adoption of the forthcoming Windows Vista.. (More groats quicker in his already bloated coffers....)
By no means am I any kind of setup guru being as I'm a n00b to LFS , but my own albeit limited experience has been that there are numerous reasons as to why tyres can overheat.just as there was prior to the tyre physics being updated in the latest round of patches.like what tyres are you on?When you've looked at the tyre type then have a look at your tyre pressures.Low pressures will heat the tyres up quicker than higher ones. Then theres the million or so other considerations involved such as too much/too little camber or caster , your driving style , and so on and so forth.Your best bet IMHO would be to head straight to the lfswiki which can be found at http://www.lfswiki.net/ Check Out Bob Smiths Setup Guides too for loads of helpful info on all things LFS which can be found at his website here at http://www.thefloatingwidget.net/ along with some other advanced tools (which I still can't get my head round!!) all geared towards getting the cars right for how we as individuals drive them.Whilst your on this info gathering mission I reckon it's worth your time paying a visit to Team Inferno's website too and registering as a user there , not just for the setup fields but also for the plethora of hints tips and info available there too , for example a new quickfire setup FAQ which has recently appeared there which just so happens to have a solution based on tyres heating up too fast..Team Inferno's site can be found here at http://setupfield.teaminferno.hu/
I hope you don't feel patronised by my post as I can see you have over 2 years more experience with LFS than I have.I just thought it worth highlighting the above points for others new to the game like myself who read this thread and relate to the query you made in your post.. aight.!
Probably the BeSt dRiViNg siM iN tHe worLd...well it's the onLy one I pLay..!! reSpecT to tHe dEvS for aLL tHe hArd woRk sO wE tHe shEEpLe onLy haVe seTUpS TO WOrrY abouT.!!
hmmm.. I think I dropped a clanger with that post.Hypocritical of me to offer a solution I wouldnt use myself.I dont use any wingman drivers or profiler software, just Control Panel - Game Controllers - Properties in XP..Admittedly I wasn't aware of any controversy over the wingman site being the n00b I am.Would one of you mind going to the trouble of explaining the pitfalls to me please?
My 1st oFFering to the community. It's only a minute long but gave me the chance to see what i could do with Fraps and I liked the resuLt.
Oh how I've tried to pull that move since but to no avail.!!!lol :heyjoe67_http://photos.imageevent.com/m ... erous%20Driving%20PT1.wmv
