Last night my brother and I were racing on the CTRA Race 1 server. We raced several races; some of them I finished, some of them I did not.
My problem is that my race stats aren't appearing in LFS World. When I open up the "Online Racer Stats" window it shows my last race information as being December 29, 2007 on the CTRA Single Seater 1 server. When l open up the "Online Race Results" window and lookup my December 31, 2007 races I see my results from last night with no problem.
Can someone explain this? My brother's race information in the "Online Racer Stats" window shows the correct information from the CTRA Race 1 server and last night's racing.
I've got my gaming rig setup with dual monitors. I'm using a Geforce 7800 GS (AGP). It has 3 outputs. I'm using the VGA output to send the signal to an NEC Optiplex 90gx2. In WinXP's display properties I've set this to be my primary monitor. The DVI output I've got running to a Samsung LCD tv, which I use to do all my gaming. I've set the display properties so that the desktop is extended onto the Samsung.
Now, here is my problem: If I set LFS to use the primary adapter, it launches on the NEC. I then window LFS and drag it over to my Samsung to play. This doesn't work so well, because I only get 20-25 fps. Normally I'll get around 90fps.
If I set LFS to use the secondary adapter, it launches on the Samsung, and automatically goes into full screen mode (No Window). I cannot use shift+F4 to go into windowed mode. LFS give an error message saying "Can't go to window - not using primary monitor".
Now, this is troublesome for me because any time I need to stop playing to do something, say check LFSWorld or answer an email, LFS will automatically minimize to the menu bar. I would like it to stay maximized and visible on my Samsung while I work on my NEC, so I can check in on what is happening within LFS. Obviously I can't do this while it isn't in windowed mode.
I understand why this is happening, my question is this: Can this be corrected within LFS or is this a Windows control thing that is beyond the game's control? Should I log this in the bug forum?

Reason : typo corrections
To bad it is just one guy's opinion. I was hoping it might be a sneak peek of the actual car. If the real car is anything like that it'll be one of the best looking cars on the '07 grid!

Reason : read ALL the posts! lol
I agree %100 with this post. I get the EXACT same feeling. It feels like the car is pivoting on a huge ball in the center of the car instead of at the 4 corners.
I also agree completely with this response as well.
I've been trying the rFactor Demo now for two days. I just can't get a feel for the car. I'm constantly second guessing what the car is about to do, over-or-under braking for corners, over-or-under estimating my acceleration points. I also have a problem with rFactors sense of speed, or lack thereof. I get no sense of acceleration or deceleration by simply watching the road. I can't really tell how fast I'm going by simply looking at the scenery as I pass through it. According to their speedometer I'm going 180 mph on the straight, while it LOOKS like I'm going about 60 or 70 mph. The only time I get a good sense of a speed difference is when I slow down for the really tight hairpin curves.
I WANT to like rFactor, I really do. All the mods, the real life cars and tracks are VERY appealing, but for me the handling "real life" feel of a car is all important, and rFactor doesn't give me that feeling, while LFS does.
I, like Flycantbird, would be happy with a few more tracks, not just more configurations on the existing tracks, but overall I get much more driving sense and fun out of LFS than any other driving sim game I've ever had before.
I did a search for banning but most of the results were on how to ban or why to ban someone, so here is my new suggestion.
Here's the situation that brought this to my attention. I was racing as a non-leaguer in a league race. One of the league players was seriously lagging. All the cars behind him slowly filter past but me. After about 2 laps of giving him a wide birth and losing about 2 seconds a lap, I decided to try a fairly safe pass in a braking zone. Of course, just as I decide to pass he lags into invisibility. Suddenly I hit.... nothing. Of course it is him, and he reappears as he spins off into the grass. As I'm trying to limp back to the pits, I am suddenly looking at the server selection screen, along with a message "connection lost".
Now, as I was having no lag issues (none of the other cars in the line were lagging but him) I can only assume I did not actually "lose" the connection. I'm guessing he banned me. (Can only one person ban if they have permission? I don't know the rules on banning...)
Anyway, my suggestion is that instead of a connection lost message, it says you have been banned. Perhaps you could also add an input area where the banner could inform the banee of exactly why they are being banned.
Interesting. Perhaps paintshop pro is the problem?
I say that because you seem to have troubles adding vectors to any file type. If psp has a bug in its 'vector code' it'll most definetly have troubles with eps files. (I've never had any troubles at all with jpg<->vectors or any eps file from brandsoftheworld with photoshop.)
Perhaps a little googling on vector bugs in your version of psp. Sorry I can't be more help.
Just a guess, but most of the images from brandsoftheworld.com are actually *.eps files, not clipart. (a few are *.ai files).
eps files allow you to open the image at any resolution and size. I'm guessing these are the "options that paint shop pro doesn't have." Does paintshop pro read eps files? (I'm a photoshop user, so I have no clue what paintshop pro can and cannot do.)
Starting to feel it now. Some of the curves on the minardi paint scheme just don't lend themselves to the curves of the F08, but I think that's pretty close to the base paint scheme.
Let me know what you think. Should be done by tomorrow evening.
I had several images of the car, but I think this one shows the colors decently. Looks like the logo was blue and gray, but it shows up better against the black part on the actual car.
Tell me about it. It's why I don't have the thing sponsored up yet. I can't find logos for half of ol' Stoddie's sponsors. Plus, the car was different for every round! lol
It's not a perfect replica. Some of the team's sponsor's logo's were impossible (for me) to find on the internets...... so I had to substitute them for other team sponsors, and the number isn't perfect, but it's good enough I guess.
