Quote from broken :Getting there takes time. Realize it. Do you prefer an arcade game with real life cars and tracks, or do you prefer to wait more, but instead get a sophisticated simulator, which slowly includes such?

i prefer the simulators out there already such as rfactor and i racing that can provide both.

Edit. And those simulators out there are the ones that are taking the players away. they are both fantastic. And when rfactor 2 comes out lfs may be in alot of trouble..

i am afriad he is right. all the very loyal lfs players however sweet it may be, need to wake up for once.

The general gamer for racing, me i race in real life and i am the same, i like to have good online racing, but when i have the option of cars that are out there in the real world, with real life great circuits of the world played across public and great leagues, they win me over.

lfs just does not offer this, and although its a great game, its loosing touch and needs a rethink, not on how to be a great game, but on how to lure everyone back into actually playing it to allow it to develop properly! the concept is not one that will win over the majority of sim racers.

brilliant game is i racing, it is a shame about the price structure however..

As for people having problems with understeer, adding more lock certainatley will make things worse!

And throughout this thread it seems, "i played iracing, it doesnt feel like lfs so i dont like it!"

they are both entirely different, but both are top notch!! however i feel lfs is going downhill slightly, i dont see many people online anymore, i look at the servers online, and immediately turn on rfactor, its a shame cos i used to have so much fun on it.

i play both, but i feel some ppl slater each game cos they are wildly different, if you give each game a chance, you will definatley enjoy both.

rfactor is a game that you need to go into greatr depth to enjoy, and i dont think many new rfactor players that have come from lfs give the game a chance, they immdiateley jump to the conclusion that its crap because it is different from lfs in the way it feels.

i personally think both need work on ff, neither is any good, lfs i dont get any kind of feel, however reelfeel plug in on rfactor has improved things alot.

Like i said above, both are great, and we should enjoy both of them and be greatful for what we have available to us for so cheap!!

ENJOY!

my biggest problem with lfs now is that i go online and there seems to be no one on! rfactor is still full of players online every evening.

They are both entireley different games, but people who claim either one is rubbish, just doesnt have a clue, becuase they are both great games that can be both enjoyed!

Quote from DanDectis :before you even have a chance to apologize or explain that you were between two cars and had no where to go and no time to react.

It's not like I was wrecking people, or being beligerent. It was a coming together on the front straight at KY1 in F08 w/3 cars, I was in the middle.

All I'm saying is I wish people would excersize a little bit of restraint or at least give people a chance to explain themselves.

With the lack of servers on Live for Speed, especially late at night EST, to be banned for no reason from one of the few servers that always has racers really diminishes the value of the game that I paid for.

Just gimme a chance is all I'm saying, it wasn't even clearly my fault being as I was in the middle

this is the biggest problem with lfs. people abuse the ban system because they get annoyed, and alos simply do not know when they are aty fault. i personally think incidents should be reported, and then the admin should decide whther a ban should take place.

Quote from Gil07 :There, corrected for you.

thanks

I think you will find that if lfs was advertised with real cars and real tracks, it would become more attractive to alot more people.

which is its a pain when a new version is released that all your replays dont work!

Quote from MIDWINTER :i have been playing lfs on and off for a while now and there is only ong thing that annoys me about this brilliant game, its all about the setup, i know thats part of racing but real racers generally have someone to do that for them......i would like to see a option where everyone has to run the hosts setup on a server or atleast all the same if its from a different racer, this would show how good you are at racing especialy if you dont know much about setting up and the physics of a race car does anyone agree with me?

+1

This makes the whole field equal, and before the whole community starts moaning about preference in settings, it does not take a minute to adapt.

This concept works a treat in rfactor and it makes for much beter closer racing.

Quote from The Very End :I can`t understand why people want a real life track. Screw that, any kind of track is good. The current tracks in game are good, and if we would have anything new that is on that level I would be more than enough happy with that. But I guess people belives that they get bigger cocks if they can drive a RL track fast in LFS

To quote something :

DAMN YOU ALL!! DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!!!

or maybe they would like to try out some of the best circuits in the world like spa and brands hatch?! the fantasy tracks in lfs are good, but i think you will find that the game will benefit much better if some RL tracks as well as cars were included.

the formula BMW has basically killed the FOX and the fox is a quicker car, and easy to drive, probably purely because its a real life machine.

Quote from RatzMilk :I'm quite happy to put up with the inferior physics of rfactor, to get access to the greater range of tracks.

Rfactor physics are not inferior. download the realfeel plug in and welcome to a whole new dimension of rfactor. ive been talking to many other lfs players on another forum who have discovered rfactors ture potential just by installing this plug in, who now say they prefer rfactor. dont get locked up in the same world as all the others, rfactor, as well as lfs is a great sim that should not be doubted.

these threads are pointless, it always turns into a war between biased lfs players, and biased rfactor players. neither party will give the other a chance, yet they cant understand that each game is a totally different concept, totally different purpose, totally different idea.

please people, we dont need to argue about whats the best game, its gets everyone nowhere.

the idea of both games is for the community to have fun, and we can do this by going and playing the games right now, whichever one you prefer, instead of arguing on the internet about which is best which to be honest, gets us nowhere and is in reality very sad!

seriosuly, this is kids stuff, its pathetic!

Quote from Tweaker :What are you guys talking about!!!?!?!

rFactor has to be the easiest game to drive on the limit with... hell even the most 'dangerous' cars in the game are pretty easy to drive fast in. As a matter of fact, both rFactor and LFS are pretty equal in terms of pushing it really hard on the limit, and keeping the car in control. They just feel remarkably different with the way they grip and lose grip... but general cornering to get a fast time is not a problem.

For those of you to say rFactor is hard or .... ehem... "impossible" to drive on the limit, I don't think you have ANY idea what you are doing. The BF1 in rFactor needs a good setup to drive properly (or else it suffers from highspeed oversteer (downforce issue, DUH!!!)), and it is great once you know that feeling. Otherwise you guys sound like you have put NO effort into even playing rFactor at its fullest potential... and just debunk it has having problems.

One thing is for sure, nearly all my friends approve of LFS's raw and challenging physics... they are amazed by them. It's the only reason I choose to stay around here. But they'd switch over to play rFactor no matter what, simply because they can stay on the track longer. This, and again... rFactor looks and sounds better. LFS is beginning to have a lot of shortcomings with these really bland sounds and graphics... the detail is just SO LOW, and tracks are SO BORING.

i agree with you there..

the mojority of lfs players are biased against rfactor. they have only given it a try once or twice, and because it feels so different to lfs they say its rubbish. im sorry but its just not.

and if you think cars on rfactor are easy to drive on the limit, join some leagues and see how easy it is to be on pole, i bet you are not because there are soem seriously fast people on rfactor, who really take the limit and extend it.

rfactor and lfs are both great games, its just a shame how lfs players bash rfactor, and rfactor players bash lfs.

its the same way either way, neither party will agree to play both games to there real potential.

Quote from e2mustang :how can u guys compare rfactor and lfs? its 2 very different games.there is no question lfs is the best out there.rfactor is i dont know its crap, there is no real physics in it,i mean in lfs u feel the car thru the tires(i hope some understands) bah nvm...
and yes i played rfactor for a while..

everyone says this but really, 4 wheel drifting does not happen. people complain about holding drifts etc, go get in a car now and go and hold a drift. when you get side ways if you can correct tit you will correct it, but it will be back in line if you do if you dont, you get speared off.

lfs is no better becuase they are 2 dfferent games altogether, made in a different way both with flaws of their own.

what a stupid, thread, people taslk as if they are michael schumacher and no eevrtythin in here, i dont get it.

2 different games, both totally different!

oh yer try saving an f1 car when you lose all the downforce!

the problem is really on lfs, if someone gets ****** off, they start a ban vote. it happenes every day about every five mins in busy servers.

its a shame really, as no one seems to want to either say sorry or give the other guy a chance to say sorry without a ban vote.

unfotunately changing the spring has not improved the shifters sensitivity. there is play in the shifter when in sequential mode, and it shifts up with slightest movement. i dont no how to fix it.

Quote from RobbyMac :1) I screwed up the filename on the previous players design I did. This doesnt affect the design, but will conflict with the new #27 version (below). #12 was run in the 94 season. #27 was run in the 95 season (the year he won Indy 500 and the indycar chamiponship). Both were driven by Jacques Villeneuve.

2) Ive created the #27 design (in addition to the #12)

C) all can be found here. Next up, Greg Moore's #99.

totally awesome. i have some player skins of paul tracy for the BF1 F08 and FOX of his championship year in 2003. i can send them to you if you like so you can make them the quality of what yours are. great job there looking forward to your next skins.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :During startup, that would probably be the BIOS first doing its magic, then windows XP trys to load it also again, and the XP doesn't do it pretty good, it continues a couple times. I know that powering on my iMac atleast, EFI detects it, then when I select OSX or XP, it recalibrates again.

i was thinking something to do with the BOIS. boot order?

anyway to stop this from happening so it only does it once, and properly?

thanks guys

Quote from dawesdust_12 :Just let it continue, it's doing its power on calibration, and if you interupt it, it gets flaccid with rage (and you get no wheel inputs unless you plug it in elsewhere allowing it to calibrate there or you restart)

i let it finish, i dont inturupt, but it still doesnt stop in the centre. ????

if i unplug it, then re plug it in when pc is on, then it does it fine, its when i start up the pc.
