I still haven't seen Trainspotting and i'm considered a filmophile among friends
Quote from DeKo :Who hasn't seen Trainspotting and Human Traffic?

I have seen it a million times by now, quite literally.

Its one of those movies you can stick on any time and still enjoy it.
Just watched 30 minutes of "Paul", really bad humour tbh, couldn't stand more of it and watched "No strings attached", it saved the night.
Not one I've seen recently, but worth recommending.

Treed Murray

To say that 90% of it is shot with a man up a tree could lead you to believe it's rubbish. Watch it and find out

Are you sure you haven't got those two films the wrong way round?

No Strings Attached was garbage of the highest order. Absolute trash.
It's good as these type of movies go, there's Natalie Portman in it, 'nough said.

As for Paul, really? Seeing an alien and the guy falls and faints, was that scene suppose to be funny? And in those 30 minutes it was that kind of humour all the time.. embarassing to watch. And i loved Shaun Of The Dead and british humour generally, just to make it clear.
i must agree with mr boris, tried to watch Paul yesterday but gave it up right when they met him...but there are days when simple films with low sense of humour are fun too, so maybe later
Some of the below I've seen recently, some are just recommendations that I haven't seen mentioned.

Triage - rather interesting, according to some source this is the most talky role Mr Lee has ever had; haven't verified.

Sleuth and Sleuth - old and remake, same premise, different chronology, different plot mechanisms and a role relay, I wonder if Mr Law will do the same in three decades' time.

The Sunset Limited - Mr Jackson and Mr Jones get existential in close quarters.

God On Trial - a nice rendition of a known play.

Stake Land - an ok survivalist post-apocalyptic tale which pretty much works in the same way The Walking Dead does by mostly focusing on the survivors.

5150, Rue des Ormes - I didn't know anything about this one and it took me by surprise. The story progression was pretty good in it and its got some nice touches of dark humor in it.

Also I've been on a road movie tangent, so:

Freeway - one movie that just keeps on escalating. I remembered this because I heard there was some recent take on the Red Riding Hood story. Next up is The Hitcher, featuring Rutger Hauer being likeable as only he can be. Which I guess goes kinda made me shuffle over to re-watching Breakdown and then lead to Retroactive which was some really good fun and I had amazingly missed out on before and that then went on to Interstate 60.

Now on to a short list of "amusing thriller/horror movies that actually got something going for them despite being stereotyped but have annoying lead characters who ignite sadistic passions in viewers":
Eden Lake, Frozen, Wolf Creek.
Insidious (2010)

Scariest movie I have seen in a long time.
Highly recommended. The movie was torturing for my nerves, which is a nice accomplishment for a horror fanatic like me. I was truly terrified!
Sahara - Matt McConaughey, Steve Zahn, Penelope Cruz

Very entertaining adventure/action film. The constantly chased trio performs really well, keeping you glued as the are hunted throughout parts of Africa. Matt definitley fits these adventurous roles

The Kingdom - Jamie Foxx, Jen Garner, Jason Bateman, Chris Cooper.

By the title It may seem like some ancient setting, sword fighting thing, but this awesome thriller isn't anything like that. Some FBI officers basically force their way into a sensitive, bomb torn section of the middle east to 'investigate' the recent bombings. They dig in deeper and slowly fight their way to killing those responsible. They get really bruised. Awesome film.
Adjustment bureau, not bad at all..

The best indie movie I have seen yet
Paul: D
Limitless: B-
The Adjustment Bureau: B-
Four from me this weekend, including some old stuff. In order:

Sanctum - Boring story, annoying characters, dull caves, awful movie.

The Book of Eli - No so bad till the end comes. Then it cheats and nothing you saw makes much sense really. Bad.

From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter - Pretty average for a bad movie. Some funny stuff and some nice shots. Apparently this one 'explains' the origin of Salma Hayek's character in the original FDTD.

From Dusk Till Dawn - Pretty good for a bad movie. Crap action, hilarious conversation, gratuitous violence, naked women. Quite entertaining.

I skipped the FDTD 2, as apparently it doesn't matter to the story and I couldn't find a single person/review that said it was watchable.
Just watched 'Super 8', really not impressed, and totally didn't expect it to be a kids movie..

Uh...

Haha, what an out-there kind of movie. Hilarious in a very wrong way
The Ghost Writer: A-
I Saw the Devil: C
If you like your odd Korean Vampire with moral questions type thing then Thirst is pretty good. If you don't then you might find a couple of the sex scenes rather odd, though some of it is ****ing hilarious.

Another good one is The Orphanage / El orfanato. A spanish film. Kinda similar to Pan's Labyrinth in a way. Worth a watch if you like that sort of thing.

Recommend a film you've seen lately.
