the "night racing" part doesn't sound particularly special really. As Bourdais put it, the lights are so bright that it's basically just like a normal day time race. The only difference of cos is that the sky are black...

PS. I really hope they don't remove those very high looking brick style kerbs down at that turn 10 (?) chicane~! lol

They did already.
I think the track looks really nice.
I agree, it looks stunning, especially earlier when the light was fading and seeing the skyscrapers in the background, really nice.

But WTF was Trulli doing ???
****ing stream is shit at the moment, keeps stuttering all the time, and they aren't showing enough t-cam onboards.

I agree though, it does look like a good track, and the night certainly adds some excitement imo.
Been watching Live Timing through Science and a bit through lunch and Hamilton has been the fastest in Practice 1 with a time of 1:45.518, being out on the track for 20laps. I hope he tops practice 2 aswell, I hope he gets qualifying, which I think he might do but as it is a new track we never know what is going to happen, hopefully he gets pole tomorrow though.

Pitty I had to use the Live Timing option on the F1 website as the Live Video Stream on itv-f1.com doesn't seem to work at school for some reason, doesn't load.

Quote :The track looks quite exiting actually, loads better than Valencia.

I think Valencia was the most boring race of the season so far and one of the best being Silverstone with good old British weather
Quote from Mazz4200 :But WTF was Trulli doing ???

Very naughty of him to drive in the wrong direction. A penalty is in order, I think. Hopefully not a major penalty, but a fine or something like that.

Quite a number of drivers got caught out on that entry to the pit straight. The white/green paint on the outside edge must be very slippery.
Looking good so far. I think this night racing really works from a spectators point of view. It makes much more sense to do this in a city, the backdrop really adds to the the overall atmosphere (for a TV viewer) whereas it was a bit flat at the MotoGp event earlier in the year with that track being stuck in the middle of no-where.

Not sure about the track yet though. There seems to be a few to many corners, and some of those little micky mouse chicane things look like they could cause problems in the race, especially if it's wet. And the pit entry and exit look quite dangerous.

Busy downloading Alonso's lap so it might give me a better idea of the track itself.

quick edit: Trulli a bit naughty !!, you joking ?, that's one of the most dangerous things in F1 i've seen in years, you simply do not drive the wrong way round the track. Especially on such a fast, blind corner. He's an experienced peddler, he should know better. He deserves a huge whacking fine for that, maybe even a grid penalty.
Quote from rediske :Very nice stream, no commercials, no crap talking idiots, I'm in heaven...

This stream has had my penis become struck with rigamortis , being able to hear the cars, and no talking.

:hide:
Looks like Melbourne but not as pretty.
Just watched that Alonso's on-board video and must say passing opportunities seem to be MIA
Mixture of Melbourne, Adelaide and Macau, perhaps with a little bit of Hungaroring thrown in too. I'm really likening the night racing though, but still 50:50 with the track layout. It's technical, but maybe a little too technical which spoils the flow of the thing.

Oddly i think Valencia has a much better layout, more of a drivers circuit, more fun. Maybe they should switch to night racing too, so the surrounding scenery wouldn't look so desolate.
I'm glad you liked the stream. Maybe it'll work tomorrow as well.
"Riiidiiing through the moonsoooooon!!!"

Have to say, looks phenomenal. Some really mindfukcery places in that track.

But, I do have a major concern. How is anyone going to overtake anyone in there? Barring rain it might be a very boring race. Valencia-boring.
Quote from deggis :How this link works just like this? Without the "please wait 60 seconds" page?

It's called "TrafficShare Download" and you can use it if sign up. I got 10 GB worth of TrafficShare bandwidth when I signed up for 1 month, after that they sell it for about 18ct/GB.

Ok.

And I don't what has happened to Rapidshare couple of months ago, at the same time the webpage changed, the extremely annoying CAPTCHA was removed altogether and there doesn't seem to be anymore mb / per hour limit (or then it has been upped up considerably, but I have not seen "please wait 60 minutes" anymore). Can't beat FTP/HTTP link but now it's quite nice compared to what it used be.

I'm talking about the free use, without account.
AFAIK, the download speed is limited to 50 kb/s now. Which sucks. I preferred looking for cats in letters and having a download speed 8 times as fast.
