This contest is currently a work in progress.

I will be setting up my simulators at an event that would like custom skins on the cars, related to their clients and businesses. I made a few for this client last year, however while mine were acceptable, there is a LOT of room for improvement, however I do not currently have the patience to try to do better. So I am going to outsource in the hopes of getting something better.

I need 8 different Car skins, that can be easily identified from each other.

I would like to be able to tweak the colors a little if needed.
I would like to be able to slap a number on them some where, from 1-10, Ideally they should all have a uniform and matching "white box" for the number


All of the cars should have a little Cesar's pizza product mentioned... hot and ready, etc....
This is the primary focus.

Some can be a mix of Cesar's and:

Detroit Red Wings in redwings colors: RED & WHITE

Detroit Tigers in tigers colors: BLUE & ORANGE
I was going to do a car with all tiger stripes...

Detroit Pistons colors: red, white, blue




The only logos I have, are the ones out on the internet...

The car will be the same car in my video.
However, really good skins that I can use for any Virtual Raceways events on any car, that I can easily use the slider to change the color of, may result in more than 8 entries





I will be the sole judge, on what I want to use or show my client.
It is possible that I wont like any of them, because I am VERY picky. lol...
It is also possible that I will like all of them, but only the 8 that best suit my needs will be
chosen. The more likely it would be a skin on a real race car the more I may like it...


Multiple Entries will be accepted, so a really good quick artist may get all 8 spots.


If I use a car for an event, I will give a prize for it.
I am expecting to give out LFS vouchers equivalent to an S1, so a demo user would need to win 3 slots to get S3. Thinking of other things to give...


How to enter, has yet to be determined... maybe to start with posting a reply for each skin with some screen shots of it, or a youtube video like I did above.


Save your master image with layers, I may want something tweaked or fixed, removed, or to add something.


I will need them before the event, about May 1st, plus or minus a few days.

It'd be a great help to provide some logos like cesar's pizza one for example, and which cars do you need them for, but i'm assuming its FXR?
I'm definitely up for the challenge though

At this time, the only logo images I have, are the ones out on the internet, that is where I got mine. I do realize this makes it difficult for those not in the USA, who do not know what this pizza company is, or who the teams are.

I am still working on getting logos, or at least more info on what they want as far as the pizza products. They are still trying to think of what to put on the car... so they do not have anything specific yet.

The car will be the same car in my video, its the only easy but still fast car there is that is good for just about every new player.

Ah, I see. Sports teams are no problem, those are quite easy to identify but cesar's pizza for example sounds so common for me that there may be various logos available to match that name, but I don't know yet as I haven't gone so far.

Looks really good, far better then mine, if you use anyone else's skins as a base make sure you have permissions from them. Not sure if there is any taboo, or bad luck with mirroring the redwings logo though.

When I started mine, the red/white was how the jerseys where divided, well kind of... lol

Is the primary sponsor/company, some of the players from the team may be signing autographs at the event.

They should be somewhat global, and in other countries, like McDonalds is, I just do not know which.

I know its not the standard, but I usually type a capital V and R when I type my .com

the LFS logo itself, would be acceptable, but I would prefer to keep their companies as the only ones on the car.

Ilitch holdings owns the team, and little caesars, so any logo associated with that can be used as the extra tiny logos. I have them on the bill boards.

Here's an updated one with logos provided, thanks Will be posting detroit tigers skin once I get it done and edit it into this too. Thankfully all the logos seemed to be transparent so it wasnt much of a hassle to change them

EDIT2: Here it is, Detroit Tigers skin, I guess I'll do detroit pistons next, but maybe it'll be finished tomorrow. I wanted to keep the roof and windscreen logo in place as it fills out the roof quite nicely and the windscreen visor is a pain in the ass to redo again
EDIT3: damn forgot the shadowlayer from that too, damn haha

Both are very good, and so far are likely to be used.
Just need 6 more... anyone else interested in this?

I may be quiet for long periods between replies for the next couple days.
Now that the snow is finally gone, I hope... I am getting the trailer out of storage... and cleaning up inside it was a mess after I just shoved stuff in there after last event.


So far I have 3 events booked, and they are all events that request setup indoors, without the trailer. Maybe this is how I should be doing it... but so much stuff to move its like moving a house each event. lol

Also, they spent a LOT of funds to bring back the old Fox Theatre in Detroit. So anything related to this fox theatre would also be acceptable. There are others across the usa, and are unrelated.

Here's detroit pistons skin though, i included 2 paint color schemes this time since it was easy to flip the colors around

Just re-wired all my cockpits, so hopefully when I do indoor events it will be easier to setup. Luckily everything seems to be working after being frozen in the trailer.

They seem to want my Pizza car again, so that is one less skin I need.
Plus they want the skins to focus more on the pizza products now that there are team cars.

So, I will replace the 8th car with an ADESA car skin. This is an event I have in a few days. I need a universal skin that works with the generic car colors I use for the players.

Yeah, I figured the team skins would be easier to start with, so I did them first

Adesa skin shouldn't be that hard to make, if you're only okay with the fact that it'll be a black and white skin so it will work with all those colour choices. If i also make 2 caesar's pizza themed skins and 2 with your virtual raceways logo that should be all then? That order can be swapped up though, depends what you want of course

It's okay to give me the payment in LFS credits too, I was planning to extend my server host time with them but yeah 50/50 is fine too.

The rest should all be Caesar pizza products... any skins made with VR on them, will only be used at car shows and birthdays... or maybe for the AI to drive...

I expect ADESA skin to be black text on white background so it can be color changed. Hopefully in the future, LFS, will have a color pallet value allocated as a background color (clear), that can change without changing the whole graphics color. The smaller ADESA group will likely want to change cars... oh well only need the one skin.

In the meantime I could knock you up a webpage where you upload a PNG skin with transparency, play with a colour selector to get the colour you want, and click a button to download a coloured JPG version.

LOL What you're wanting, I sorta do for a living. Only I have to deal with design firms and architects..... You know you give much better info on the initial project than what they do.
There's a lot of folks here that should be able to do this for you.

Right, here's a few different pizzas for different tastes and an adesa one

The Adesa skin apparently didn't need a numberplate, but I have everything backed up in project files so it's easily added back on, but i felt like it should be quite simplistic so your color changes won't mess up any bits of design. I was going to do the pizza skins like detroit pistons with 2 different color schemes on same design, but ended up doing a different piece of styling for different pizzas. Also kept the logos quite minimal in them as i felt the pizza texture was more important for the skin. Hope you like them and enjoy racing with them as much as I did doing them

My pizza car looks stupid now... so I will be using these 3 instead of mine.

I will likely only use the BLUE pistons car, so there is 1 for each team.

So that is 3 for teams, and 3 for pizza.... hmm what else could be done with the last 2? hmmm

Racer Y, I was just thinking out loud/text as I typed it...
I have been in the position of being told what to do by a client. I use to do 3D modeling for a Jewelry casting company in Rhino and Matrix. Some requests were odd... like make this spherical object, less boxy. or... Put this 4mm stone, inside this 2mm wide area... but make that area narrower. or... make it more fragranty... umm what? its gold.

This is exactly how I like to setup the car colors...
Kind of looks like board game pieces, which I like.

I'll get 2 more skins done tomorrow so there'll be some variation in choice, too Tigers skin would be nice with a different color order too but i think that was the only skin where i failed to put the design as separate layers so i cant test how it would look like, but i'll do something new

Sorry for double posting, here's FOX Theatre and Motor City Casino skins. For the theatre one i tried something i rarely do and it may look a bit funky but overall the most parts wrap up around the car nicely and there's not too much clipping. I had to mirror the rear 3/4 and trunk but otherwise the roof and hood aren't mirrored at all, i found some great pictures to source those from and i was able to identify it to be the actual theatre in detroit, so it shouldnt be far off If you don't like it i can do something like the other skins with a "racing" paintjob. As for the Motor City casino one, I didn't really know what color scheme i should use so i went with a black/white with blue accents for it.

The image i sourced the theatre bits from is under Creative commons license, so there is no harm using it for this purpose, too. Just clarifying I found it from the Detroit's fox theatre page in wikipedia.
