The OWRL F1 is back for the third time

From April to November the third OWRL F1 will run for the third time. The season consists of thirteen races in a bi-weekly schedule with a summer recess of two months. Three races will be held under sunset conditions.

Prior to the season we organized two test races to see if we may forbid traction control but the admins decided to stick with 2008 rules and to allow traction control. One of many reasons was that the car was built to have it and to keep it real, we decided to leave things as they are. However we enforced a new rule that we use now realnames in the OWRL F1.

Baltic Cup 2009

Baltic Cup 2009 Round 1 winner: Rolands Svetins

Estonia – Latvia – Lithuania
08.02.2009.

First BC league race went well but with some small issues as always. There were lots of good racers from Baltic States and STD at Fern Bay Gold was fun indeed. Those are not the fastest cars, but there was great racing and battling between the racers for sure. Race started with grid of 27 fastest Baltic drivers that qualified for the race in top10 from each country. It was 1 hour long race, and once the people had calculated the approximate laps, they filled their cars with the fuel and were ready to go.

Div A spots to be won by hotlap competition

UPDATE: Tracker link added

Do you want to drive in Div A, but haven't been able to crack through the ranks just yet? This might be your get-in-Div-A card! As the new season approaches, some places on the 24-driver grid are still free. And we are going to fill them by giving the spots to the drivers who can post the fastest hotlap at Aston North. This track features the second race of our upcoming season and a driver has to be able to find the balance of his Formula V8 in the slow and fast corners to get to a quick time.

This Saturday the 24th of January, the legendary Masters of Endurance 24 Hours of Aston Grand Prix will get underway. Since 2005 this race has been the highlight of the series and a highly anticipated tradition for the Live for Speed community in general.

Championship points are doubled for this race, which means that at this point the championships in both the GT1 and GT2 classes are far from decided. In GT1 F1RST Racing GT1 is leads with #low Racing and Spdo Racing GT1 close behind, while the SK Gaming, n1Racing (new to the series and performing very well), and Mercury Racing trail a little behind.

Winter Series '09 - Event 2 Winner: Rudy van Buren

Race About at Aston Club Reverse was a great car and track combination that proved to be extremely tricky. Through-out practice it was obvious some people had a handle on the beast, which could be under-steering in one moment and over-steering the next. It was shocking that I, (Tim Beaudet), would be eliminated after qualifying not even making the event, by only a tenth of a second. From that point on it was an intense event with some finishes closer than the precise timers used to track the cars.

Nolan Scott dominates Round 1 of 2009 iTCC Championship

American Nolan Scott from the CoRe racing team was the man of form last weekend as he opened his account in the iTCC Touring Car ChampionshipHaving qualified through with the fastest time from the Reserve Shootout, Scott then repeated his pace in qualifying for Race 1 with a time of 1:37.xx that was simply too hot for the rest of the field to handle.

Following Scott onto the front of the grid was his Head-to-Head rival from the previous day, Rudy van Buren from the Netherlands. Van Buren struggled to find clear track space in qualifying, but eventually was able to put in 1:38.xx to complete the front row.
