I have an 3000+, X800Pro, 1Gig Ram and getting 60FPS min. in a 15 car race.

And try other settings for AGP-Speed in your BIOS. And don't overclock your PC.

If anything helps, post the solution here. I'm sure there are more people who want to know this!

I switched off the "Throttle Cut on Upshift" and yes, it's really faster. I don't lose 2-3 car length from start to turn one and my laptimes went down 1 sec. (AS Classic on XFR) But I don't know if this comes from this setting or I'm getting better...

Is it possible to drive faster lap times with "Throttle Cut on upshift" and "Throttle Blip on downshift" switched off? I have it turned on since i first played this game.
Or does this setting not affect your laptime?

I want to know because I would have to learn to drive again, if better times are possible with these settings switched off.

I had the problem with the introduction-Video too!

I had LfS installed and added the patch P2. In game the right version of LfS was displayed, but i added the patch to an older version of LfS and not the current one.

After installing the right version with the patch the introduction-Video worked fine.

I'm also a little impressed by the DFP-Wheel. (have a MS FF-Wheel for years now and I'm still very statisfied of it)
But I like the strength of it, and the 900 degrees, and the gearshift lever.

Is it possible to assing 1 function in LfS to 2 Buttons on the wheel? If I buy it, i want to use the gearshift lever AND the flippers. Depends on the car I'm driving.

Drive 100 Laps and you'll be about 1 sec faster. Without any change in the setup!
Thats my experience.

I made a 1.18.xxx on FE Green with the XFR. An other racer had 1:13.xxx. I asked him for setup and I got it. But the car was even more difficult to drive than with my setup.
Well. After a few hours i was driving 1.15.xxx with my setup. And I'm sure if i go for a few more hours I can make low 1:14!

It's useless to try different setups if you are not able to drive clear laps with your setup. And with clear laps I mean 10+ in a row.

Just my 2 cents...

I haven't read anything about the microsoft FF-Wheel yet. Is it because it isn't produced anymore?
I have mine now for about 8 years and it still works perfect. Well, the FF-Strength is not that good anymore than it was at the beginning, but I don't go the gym 4 days a week, so thats not a problem for me...

Well there is no "must" in using a ghost car.

I'd really want this feature in the game. And there are a lot of racers out there thinking the same way than I do.

Come on guys! I'm about to order the Logitech DFP-Wheel because of LfS! (Currently driving with a Microsoft FF Wheel).

I don't want to buy a new Graphic-Card and 2 more monitors!!!

If you press the "reset car" key the car suddenly has brandnew tires!!
This could be used for cheating... If you hit space right before you go to pit you safe a few seconds because you don't have to change tires in the box!

Anyone got a link to this pitstopper-thing? THX

They have such a button in the A1 GP-Series (GP of Nations).
They can push this button 9 times during a race.

I also don't think, we need this in LfS.
