Change the degrees to 720 or as close as you can get (mines 725). Thats the actual turn radius of most of the cars in the game. cept the single seaters which are 540 i believe.
As 5th gear put it best, it's about car control. When I was learning to do it in NFS most wanted, and finally achieved it, I was quite happy. When I do a nice one in LFS I feel good. Just like when having a fun race. I guess thats why I like using the XRG. Having the oversteer through a corner .
I remember reading an article of some navy guys docked in saudi arabia. They rented an accord, and did a drift stunt as it was said doing about 110kph, the driver ended up killing his 3 passengers, and he was executed. So it can be scary, but fun if you actually know what you are doing.
The big difference between racing and a game, is the feel. You don't feel the car slow down, whip through a corner, you don't feel the clutch, the weight transfer when braking, etc.
I think you might be out of luck. As Laptops aren't like PCs where you can upgrade them by single parts all the time. Really have to buy it as is, and stick with it. But to OP, your laptop should be fine.
I downloaded the one from team inferno for xrt, and was practicing. I actually find i lose control too easily, and spin out, rather I can control the hard track setup easier in a drift. Am I perhaps just giving to hard to do the weight transfer? or should I perhaps just use the hard track since i seem more used to that kind of feel?
Also, you are restricted to the XRG i would assume for drifting, instead of XRT. I accidently was drifting (practicing) with the XRG last night lol, the cars look too alike.
Go to livetocruise.net and post on the forums there. I don't think they will have it so others can set it up. Even if they do, you probably should have an s2 license. However good luck on it.
I get a message that MSCOMCTL.ocx is not registered and that a file is missing or invalid. I googled that file name and it is open to download. I just dont know if I should download this that would be put in the system32 dir. Error message also says Run-Time error '339'. Thanks in advance.
I found when driving the XFG and touching the apex, sometimes it would cause me to bounce on my side if going fast and hard enough. Perhaps the setup I was using had too stiff of a suspension.
I agree with OP, having slight slip is okay. It allows you to go in a little faster, and you regain full grip pretty quickly to accellerate out. Also Gran Turismo is pretty realistic on physics, just harder to feel using a game pad. I wish there was a desk I could use to hook up my g25 to the ps2.
I've never done a race in the oval. I don't care much for those races on tv, I like the tigher tracks, where they use so much torque to pull out of corners and such
I use a g25, looked at picture of that porsche wheel. It has a nice amount of buttons on the wheel, thatll be nice for handbraking, the horn and such.
