I suggest to take it to where you bought it, or send an e-mail to logitech. If you got it new, that shouldnt happen. If you did buy used, i suggest open it up, squeeze the pedals to see where the noise is being created and go from there.

Quote from mikey_G :Never seen that before, would be fun if you maked a video of it.

What also helps heel and toe is having the thottle pedal further away, and the brake pedal closer (towards you), so when you look from the side you can see a difference of at least 1 cm between the pedals. I modded my g25 pedals like this and I'm only 2 tenths slower then my pb (which I did with the sequential setup).
The only problem I have is the speed of my downshifts, so most of the time I'm downshifting more then 1 gear (like going from 6th to 4th). Threshold breaking is also a big problem

Would you recommend doing that with the g25? Cause you mentioned threshold breaking is a problem.

That'll be me unintentually

Quote from DuDu_Drifter :
if they are getting access to BMW F1 cars, WHY DONT THEY PUT THE M SERIES IN LFS?! like M1, M3, M5 and M6?!
thats could be wonderful!

Agreed, M5 is one of my favourite cars. That and porsche 911 turbo

I forget, how is a burnout done? (Manual transmission, no auto clutch).

I just realized i've had it off the whole time, guess i really didn't know what it was. Never did much heal toe for downshifting, mostly a mix of break and downshift, that doesnt over rev.

Off the line, I find clutch 1st gear, rev up good then release the clutch on green works well. I'm newer too so, once you get the start, you have to worry about lines

honestly guys, dont bash the cruise servers. I like them for their social experience, as well as getting some practice with certain cars, and not feeling any pressure or competition.

nice man, get s2

Yeah, I was racing on CTRA yesterday, and did some of FB club, i like the XRs better than XFs
agm_ultimatex

Yea there are. I was looking at lap times, and the XFG definatly looks to be a better choice for races over the XRG, as it has slightly quicker lap times in the WR. Personally im not too fond of the understeer, like it lacks going through the occasional corner hard.

i have myself a G25, I dont care much for the fwd, tho im starting to use the XFG, as its nice for starting off in CTRA (XRG is a bit trickier). I'll do a lap of BW tonight, see how it goes.

Quote from Gunn :No, they hate drifters because so many young people with immature behaviour happen to be attracted to drifting. Therefore you see a lot of drifters in the community who are a total PITA, many of whom don't understand what a race simulator is and who often will make suggestions that are irrelevant to the development of a race sim, and they often voice their opinions in annoying ways.
This type of behaviour is not limited to any group of players but manifests itself most often with players who openly support drifting. Therefore an animosity towards that group builds up over time and people form stereotypical opinions about the group as a whole.

Many drifters seem to go out of their way to try and make an issue of the "us VS them" debate, which incidentally, only usually rears it's ugly head when drifters make threads like this one. Many drifters act all victimised when somebody suggests that a race sim should concentrate on developing features pertaining to racing, instead of drifting. Some people seem to take it personally that this is a race simulator and not a drift simulator. It is what it is. Don't take it personally.

It's only natural that some kind of division occurs.

The division here isn't really about the drifting, it's about people's attitudes and behaviour towards a group of people who coincidentally like drifting.

hmm, that sounds exactly what happened to the image of the honda civic. I think the newer civics are nice, but wouldn't buy one cause of all the ricers that made it have a bad image.

I like CTRA because if gives you a clear goal to achieve (get a better license)...

Yeah, thats also why I like the cruise servers. Both have a form of progression and achievement.

I would say a wheel would definatly improve times. As you have the axis for throttle, break and turning. For best lap times, can stick to using sequential shifting.

Hmm interesting there.

And yeah, clarkson doesn't appreciate a true car when he sees one. Porsches ftw!

Quote from Dajmin :Getting used to the track before you
But as someone is bound to say, none of the in-game cars have 900 steering, so you might want to reduce that. I think the road cars have 720 and the GTRs have 540. So if you're having issues, try that. A little more turning response for very minimal accuracy loss is a good trade-off in my book

I like a lot of everyone's points, thanks for the input. I guess I can see that about the degree turns. As the anims in the cockpit follow my steering wheel until a certain point. I know in actual F1 cars, they have maybe a couple hundred degrees on their steering wheel.

Hey LFS players,
I've had S2 for a little now, playing casually. Done about 140 laps or so on the LTC servers, getting used to the MP environment. This week I've been getting into CTRA, and I've noticed myself having light crashes (with the course, not players as I play about 2-3am europe time).

Not cause i naturally suck, but more or less not as much practice with the tracks. The other night was the first time I played a certain track in south city. Would you guys recommed doing a few laps in single player of every track, get used to it? Or just drive like I am in low pop times to get better?

Thanks.

--Note, I use a G25, the H gate shifter, 900 degrees, and I drive the XRG on CTRA 1.

C# is a nice language. I find it makes a lot more sense than c++. C++ just doesnt stick with me as well as C# and Java. If you have a good concept of OOP, then just look up specifics for C#. Such as how to do GDI stuff, or various System.Console commands.

Hey guys, I unzipped the file into the directory where LFS.exe is, and copied the info to the CFG file, however it does not seem to stall. I can still shift it into first, let go of the clutch & gas, then press the gas at my leisure.

Actually on my table, due to a metal bar that sticks out, I had to put my shifter on the left side (near the corner) as the metal interfered with it.

900 all the way, I like realism. http://youtube.com/watch?v=YDFXPVzcd4I thats of me drifting with the 900, not very well though. As above said, practice makes perfect.

Yeah, my c++ text book has that one in it. We're running through it quickly, then doing open gl.

for C#, I prefer to have the good old using statement for future use.

using System;
namespace NotAnEnterprise
{

class Program
{
static void
Main(string[] args)
{
Console.WriteLine("Not an enterprise application.");
}
}
}

or in Java (not advised for making a game though)

public Class HelloWorld
{
public static void main(String args[])
{
System.out.println("Hello world");

}
}

I'm quite fond of the shift lock, as I use an H gate. The ebrake is nice and easy, cause it requires less to worry about. I'm still learning myself, as there are many corners that cause me to slide off the track. Can always try a little power over, get a feel for it a bit. I do mostly power over in fern bay gold rev. In Aston cadet rev, I use a mix of shift lock, power over, ebrake a bit too. The one corner I can hit in that every time is the 3rd turn (where theres a slight turn before it, and then the harder turn follows. I just slow down, turn before the turn, downshift, counter steer, and feel it out.)
