Some questions for multiplayer
agm_ultimatex
S2 licensed
I have S2 as you can see, and I've been mostly playing single player.

1) For mutiplayer, I'm wondering what servers are good for casual driving and racing.

2) Also, are only certain cars acceptable in certain servers?

3) If there are car specific servers, whats a good XRR one?

Thanks in advance

Any good replays on aston cadet that someone can link?

Now doing aston cadet rev. First turn on this is tricky too, getting the speed right. I find myself doing mostly shift locking, as downshifting helps to slow down for most turns anyway.

Nice link. In terms of power over drifting, I find in Fern Gold R, I just can't seem to do it, at least on that first corner. Either too much speed or not enough, and I spin on the right turn

I've been mixing use of the feint and downshift (called shift lock I think) for drifting, and I'm getting better. The ebrake is a nice way to lose traction, but I don't like the feel as much. The clutch kick I've tried, but I don't seem to lose traction. That's where you're in either 2nd or 3rd, and kick the clutch so it disconnects and reconnectes to lose traction. Unless i have that wrong.

Yeah, i've been tryng the feing technique more, I do like it. I've been doing Fern Bay Gold reverse, and I find 3rd gear is a little quick to go through the first turn, so I break and down shift, then do the inertia.

I've seen the LFS drift bible, and I'm wondering what technique would you recommend starting off with?

I've actually been trying to drift lately, and finding myself not going for laps as much. I do like both the XRT and XRR. On an online race, I'd probably use the XRR for that extra edge.

Personally, I find the XRT harder to drive in a course, regardless of speed with the XRR. The XRR just sounds so nice, and thats why I use it. Learning to drift with the XRT.

Quote from SilverArrows77 :Heres a real life example taken from Greg Murphy (V8supercars) - you'll see he doesnt use the clutch for downshifts or upshifts - after the 1:00min mark in the vid ,the flat shifting is clear to see , as he drives down the main straight

That's also known as powershifting isnt it? Right amount of gas, and shift?

I'll try some with the XRT, see if I can get a good replay.

I've gotten around 1:23 or so on blackwood with the XRR. When screwing up, i do go off, but I still find XRT has a more rwd feel to it.

I currently use both the XRT and XRR. What do you guys find faster, as i've seen some WR doing this. When shifting, to gold the gas, clutch in shift to 2nd. Or to put clutch in, release gas, shift, then release cluth+gas.

Actually tried the XRR on tracks, it's much easier than the XRT. It has a lot more grip and turning capability. Maybe I'm not pushing it enough though.

I really enjoy the sound of the XRR, but the XRT is a little more challenging in IMO. But the sound is sooo nice, so that's why I asked. Any setup links?

Is the XRR good for drifting at all? Or should I stick with the XRT?

I have the same wheel, I use the H gate all the time. For certain turns ill break good in 4th and down shift into 2nd. For the f1 cars, I think the paddles/sequential is quite necessary.

Except when I drive my Mazda 3 on stock tires through canadian winters. Then I start sliding near stop points and have to apply it a bit.

To each there own. I think the XFG doesn't suit me at all. I tried the XRR out, RWD version of XFG. I did 1.19.72, its really nice too.

Did some laps with the FXR, wow it handles so easily. Best time was only 1:23.53, not used to how it handles the corners yet.

I love RWD, sooo much fun. Yeah the FXR is nice, soooo sweet sounding when redlining. I guess I like the XRT a lot cause its a bit of a challenge for racing, and I'm happy with a healthy medium power.

Now that I'm getting better at driving, I'm trying to learn how to drift with the XRT. Using 43% power 33% coast. My method is todo inert, turn away from the corner, then oversteer in.
