I haven't tried multiplayer yet so i dunno. It's a decent laptop. 2 ghz core 2 duo, x1400 mobility. 1BG ddr2. Desktop will be sweater once i get the board replacement (was doa). Q6600 2.4gh quad core, 680i nforce motherboard, 2 gigs of ddr2. I'll get a newer video card once i have the money too.
I apologize if this a waste of a thread. But its been probably a good month since i've played. My desktop is still outta commission as i have to send new parts i got for it back and stuff.
I just hooked my g25 up to my laptop, man do i miss how the cars feel while driving them. LFS really is a drug. I've been enjoying spinning out around corners with the FZR, accelerating to over 200 in the XRR
correct me if im wrong, but doesnt c++ compile through the .net framework? Also I agree with them. C++ and open gl are probably your best bet. C# is a nice language as it has garbage collection and all, but I dont know how good its 3d is.
As i'm not a very good racer, and newer to it, I thought i'd race a quick AI on a track i use a lot - South City Town Course Rev. The AI happened to really kick my but. Ill upload the replay if you want in a reply. It was pulling 1:48.50s or so, while my best was 1:51.?? (both driving XRG). Is it kind of sad that it beat me so nicely? Should I try to keep racing online to improve, or keep agianst a couple AI till I win?
Is that with any car? Try the XFG or XRG, they are both the H pattern gear box. The cars that use sequential gear box require you to use a sequential setup.
I like my 720 degrees, as it fits the rotation on most of the lower end cars, and its a bit more gradual. Realistic on how fast you can turn the tires also. Ive played with a mouse to try and drift on my laptop, its funny seeing the tires jerk into max lock.
I drive an automatic in real life, this is a nice write up (as i've read some around, due to interest in driving a manual). I have my g25 clutch set up in LFS so that its fully engaged around 50% down. However, if im still, in first gear, clutch down, and release it to the point where its slightly less than full engage, the car in LFS stalls. I wish it would slightly roll or have the rpm drop or something. I need to practice lifting off the gas nicely too with the shifts, as im used to powershifting all the time.
keep an eye for a good g25 price. I payed $192 canadian with tax and shipping, it was around $150 shelf price. At the time that would have been around $140 shelf price, so probably a little less than 800 nok
android, could you post a pic of that, cause i bough the M4 40mm screws, but i wasnt sure on washers and what not. or origami, could you post pics of the parts you have. Im actually not to sure if i have the right screws.
I just did a race on the 8 lane drag with 7 AI, I was the only one to finish. The AI were driving around the start line, some didnt even move. some drove forward a bit, then parked on the side.
Agreed. Also Im saying that I had the h shifter on my setups, but it wouldnt work at all. In patch x i used h gate for every car, except the F1s. I want to do the same
I like the XRR and FXR over the FZR due to the forced induction. One thing though, because the XRR and FXR and set as sequential, shouldnt we be able to use the h shifter still with the G25? As the only way it lets me shift using those cars is with sequential.
i play this game cause of its current realism in patch x, patch y will make it that much more fun. If im infront of you when that light turns green, prepare to drive around my stalled car.
Best racing sim ive played so far. Ive tried gran turismo 4, a bit of forza 2. They're pretty good, but I find they lack in some areas. The auto clutch when disabled in GTR2 was still on, that annoyed me. I'm also like many a junior programmer, and respect the fact how good of a game this is to be made by 3 people. Very impressive actually.
android, i have a g25 and tried to do calibration as you stated. After setting up the wheel, gas, brake, etc. Do you press the clutch a little, then click on the clutch setting and select the axis to finalize it?
Nevermind, I figured it out.
