Quote from Zipppy :
I will test the method said a few paragraphs above, and share my findings.

EDIT:I found that backspace worked in a way, but it did not allow chat messages to show, It erases everything, I should try a quicker speed to see if it improves.

You could make it so that when you press 't' (or whatever your chat key is) it'll disable it and then if you press either enter or escape it turns back on.

Quote from Mikjen :I tend to drink only if

1. I am on the computer
2. at home
3. If i goto the shop and buy some .?

If i go away on holiday for 2 weeks, i dont drink at all
If i go out for a meal, i normally drive and dont drink at all.

Very strange

Almost the same for me, I only drink when I'm at my computer or if i'm out and I know someone can take me home, if I can't be driven home then I just have a few cokes. I used to drink on average once every 3 nights, not that I can call it an addiction, I always seemed to get really drunk, but over the years I've lost the sort of 'need' to drink, I just remember the rediculous hangovers I used to get after drinking that much and I just think it's not worth it, so that's why I stopped drinking so much, that was enough reason to get me off it. Now i'd consider myself just an average drinker, maybe one or 2 drinks a week, if that.

But anyway keep it up Dan, looking good

Quote from sykboy :You have one?

No, I'm happy with my zboard.
Anyway, doesn't the G19 have the normal 4 buttons that the G15 did? (plus a few more). Seems stupid that Logitech wouldn't make its keyboard backwards compatible with old apps.

Yes, basically a G15 with powered usb ports and a colour LCD screen...and a stupid power brick hanging off it.

Quote from G13Haze :hmm my laptop has better specs.
bf2 runs @ low
LFS runs very poor
C&C Generals runs perfect
WoW low gfx @ 25-60 fps..

@1440x900
Nvidia 7300 Mobile
X2 turion 52
2GB DDR2

Not too shabby, my old PC had a geforce 2 w/ 64mb, celeron @2ghz (which later died from my attempts at overclocking, replaced with a celeron 1.7ghz) and for most of the time I had it, it had 256mb RAM, ran LFS at low/medium settings with 35 fps and went as low as 8 if there were lots of cars around. LFS was set at 1152x864 I think as well.

Tried Tremulous? works on windows and linux and unless your pc is more than 6 years old, it'll work.

Quote from MijnWraak :Try using in-game AA and AF. I was getting 50-90 fps with nvidia 32xq AA, but that looked pretty bad - too much AA haha. Switched to in-game 8xaa and 16x AF with default LOD values. Now I get 200-250 FPS, never dips below 150 (v-sync'd to 75 though)

How'd you manage 32xAA?
nVidia CP only shows 16xQ AA and LFS only goes up to 16...

Quote from P V L :I am using the right red button, easy to get there with my thumb.

Same here, but sometimes it can be tricky to get to, especially when you need more angle mid drift and then you have to rearrange your hands to press it, most of the time when I finally get to it I'm not drifting anymore because the wheels have caught up with the track.

Wait...just to clarify, are you using the right button on the wheel or the right red button on the shifter? I use the right button on the wheel and the left button is horn.

Could someone please upload the original exe and send me the link please as I've added LFS to my steam games list and apparently it deletes original exe files (which I didn't know until just then) >_<

Quote from Boris Lozac :That sounds awesome, if i only knew what Tim Tams are

Tim tams are chocolate biscuits that have some sort of chocolate paste in them.

When I said triple chocolate I meant double.

Quote from batteryy :ehm... where exactly you heard that you die before 50-60 by smoking? smoking really aint that effective, but it doesn shorten your life even if you get lucky and dont get cancer. altrough, if you start smoking before age of ten, there is a chance to not really grow very much and also you genitals will come out quite small

My grandfather has been smoking since his mid teens, he still smokes today and he's almost 70.

He smokes about a pack a day on average as well.

He means, why are you discriminating against people who make/use cruise servers. Why do you do it? to get more posts so you look better?

Now, OP what do you mean by creating jobs? do you mean making people admin, having cops in the servers or....what?

I'd resent that after you read what I suggest. Get a tim tam (I prefer the triple chocolate ones) bite off both ends and then dunk it in a glass of milk then drink the milk through the tim tam, do that until it goes soft then eat the tim tam. Best thing ever.

Quote from Stiggie :Little question: Temperature-wise, i would like to know how these temperatures of my XFX GTX 260 216 are. It idles at around 56º, full-load (Crysis) 76º-80º. This is at the stock clocks (621/1350/2000) Do these temperatures sound reasonable, and not harmfull for the core? I'm worried about it running too hot.

My Sparkle GTX 260 core 216 w/ 1792mb idles at 36-40 degrees at 300/600/100, when the clocks kick in (576/1242/1100) for games it's gotten up to 80 degrees C and the fan runs at 40% all the time as I haven't yet been able to work out how to change the fan profile in rivatuner.

Quote from Bose321 :That seems really low, I can't even seem to do that. My lowest underclock is 500/750...

It's probably power phases, though my old 8800GTS 320mb never underclocked itself, it always sat at 570/1242/900 no matter what it was doing, and its idle temps were woeful IMO, with the fan set to auto in rivatuner it idled at about 58 degrees C and wouldn't go lower than 48 degrees, no matter how hard I tried, an 8 degree night didn't make it go lower either, even with all the fans on 100%. It'd go up to 70 degrees easily though, and once I got it up into the 90's.

I bought the one with extra memory because I play mainly games like GTA IV and Far Cry 2. Those sorts of games I thought would use a whole bunch more memory than any other game, GTA IV proved it, but no other game is yet to use more than 900mb video memory.

GTA IV on maximum settings for me uses about 1592mb of that 1792, so it was sort of worthwhile, I just need 64 bit and then I can go mad with memory. Also GTA IV I think is fine, never goes over the limit of my 2GB, it's pretty close though, most of the time in game it gets to about 1930-1970MB memory usage, so I still have another 70 or so left.

Anyway I thought that's how the memory limitation worked, Someone told me it only counted system memory, but I told him that it counted all memory in the computer.

Quote from mongoosetierney :I cant plug it directly into my PC due to some strange sound distortion issue's with my sund card so i have a reliable USB Hub that works find with everything else. Wonder if its a problem with my G25 or the Hub?

Thanks for any info and stories

I'd say its the wheel, since my subwoofer has a noticeable hum to it when I plug my G25 into the power, but as soon as I plug the USB connector (earthing it?) in the hum goes away completely.

Taken from xfire:

Manufacturer: me
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ @ 2.5GHz
Memory: 2.0 GB PC2-6400 (DDR2)
Hard Drive: 750GB internal 320GB WD my passport
Video Card: Sparkle GTX 260+ 1792MB
Monitor: ViewSonic VX2235wm
Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Extremegamer Fatal1ty Pro

Mouse: Logitech G9
Operating System: Windows XP SP3
Motherboard: Asus M2N-SLI
Computer Case: Antec Nine Hundred Two

Antec TPQ 1000W PSU

Also, if I'm running a 32 bit version of XP am I able to add another 1GB of RAM without that bs memory limitation, or does it count total memory for everything (ie sound card has 64mb, bios is 2mb etc)?

Sorry for not reading the whole topic (it's late) but I had a similar thing happen to me with Windows 7 shortly after I got a new GTX 260 (1792mb version). A few days after I got the new card I decided to install Windows 7 for some DX10 carnage with far cry 2 and crysis, it all worked fine then with no hiccups. Then a few days after I took my computer to a LAN and then for the first half an hour I was there it worked fine, then I moved it into another room and after that point of the day my computer BSOD'ed 3 times in the space of about 40 minutes, and then it would restart out of nowhere every 20 (ish) minutes for about 8 hours until I decided to go home. I thought my PSU was the problem, but it ran xp perfectly before I put windows 7 on, two days later I put XP back on (after having Windows 7 on for about 3 days, I was intending on running it for much longer) and I haven't had a problem since.A few days after I put XP back on I decided to kill the doubt of the PSU and replaced it with a 1000 watt model.

Yes I do it sometimes in cruise servers, not being entirely in the know of clutchless shifting I go up to the next gear (with a G25 and auto clutch off) then leave the accelerator until the gear comes up, to downshift I go to neutral rev the engine then engage the lower gear. I do this mainly when I get sick of the clutch and just want to drive slowly.

Oh and I hate the auto gearbox, so that's why I shift without the clutch..and the sequential option is pretty much the same as what's above, so I don't bother to change it to sequential, I just leave it in H pattern all the time.

I just tried playing LFS without the mains connected to my g25, everything except the wheel worked, so its the (lack of a?) power supply.

If you don't have one this may help you find one, i'll put up details of what it says on the power supply box:

Quote from power box specs :
APD (logo) Asian power devices
AC adapter (japanese? EVERYWHERE lol)
Model number DA-42H24
AC input 100-240Vac, 50-60Hz
1.0A max
DC output 24Cdc 1.75A
L.P.S (Limited Power Source)
