Even if you do get spiking issues, I fixed my G25 pedal spiking (80% travel would show up as 50-100% in game) by spraying into the pedal assembly with WD40, never had a problem since I sprayed them about 2-3 weeks ago so it _should_ work on any other pedal set that works similar to the G25.
www.lfsmanual.net should help you out with getting to know how it works. If there's something missing from the manual then have a look at wikipedia, it should help you find what you need to know.
We are good at sarcasm, but I don't like it when someone asks a perfectly reasonable question, only to have someone answer with something irrelevant. He asked for nVidia not ATI.
Do you play any other games besides LFS? If you play anything reasonably demanding, then it would be good to buy something good like a GTX 260, if you only want to play LFS, buy something like a 9600GT, that should do you fine.
And Genesis, the GTX 4xx series won't be out for a while, the 3xx series aren't even out yet (minus the 310, which is an OEM card).
That's still an odd idle temp and fan speed, my 955 (125W) idles at around 38 degrees with stock cooling at 3.2GHz and under load it can be from 43 (LFS) to 52 (GTAIV) degrees C and the fans idle speed is around 3000 rpm or 5000 at full load, It's running LFS now at 43 C/3300rpm, though I've got it limited to 65% of its speed since the extra speed doesn't qualify the extra heat for ~200 fps more since I'm already getting a stable 130 anyway
I have a GTX 260+ and it's run everything (almost) I've thrown at it on maximum settings (specs in sig), the only game I've had problems with is crysis, but you'll probably never get that game working properly anyway
Are you by any chance running XP SP1 or earlier? since they won't recognise more than 137GB of space in any hard drive installed. The problem goes away if you upgrade to SP2 or get a later version of Windows.
Uhh, disregard that, I just saw you said vista so just RMA it, as there's obviously something wrong with it.
Oran park, since it's closing down (at the end of this year officially at the end of next year I believe (unofficially) and it's a great track, pity it's being replaced with housing estates, the only track that doesn't charge and arm and leg to drift there, as Eastern creek either say no straight out or charge you allot more than a normal booking to drift there as they think it 'ruins' the track...that's what maintenance people are there for >_<
I use a wireless 360 controller from time to time and I've had no problems with it other than the sticks being way too sensitive for the first 20% of movement, makes going straight a challenge without spearing off in one direction. Also, does XBCD work with a wireless 360 controller or does it only work with the wired version?
The only time I shift smoothly in my rl car is when I have passengers, other than that I don't care how I change gear smooth or jerky, I'm the only one to complain and jerky shifts remind me that I'm driving a real car
I use a G25 with 720 degrees and no aids whatsoever and that's how I've had it since the day I got my wheel. I started off with the hardest and got used to it after a while. If you drive a car in real life you should fine the G25 dead easy to use in LFS...unless you drive one of those automatic transmissions, like the world seems to be doing these days, getting lazier, people don't want manuals anymore >_<
The above applies for when I started to drive as well, I had 2 drives in my parents car, couldn't get over the power steering so I bought my own car, 5 speed manual without power steering, quite a good car and I don't mind the minor workouts I get, I'm used to it now.
It would make it too easy for banned people/hackers to restart and just act like they never did anything wrong or give them another chance at doing whatever they do best
I got drunk one night playing a game, thought of something random and I've liked it ever since...until I found out it's other meaning a few days ago o.O
My car's steering wheel turns almost 4 turns lock to lock, meaning that it's just short of 1440 degrees, though my car isn't designed to be sporty, it does the job well and I hardly notice the steering anyway, on the track (if ever) I wouldn't notice the amount of turns because you only use about 1.5 turns anyway.
The cars in LFS all do 720 degrees or less, not _real_ cars, unless they've been given a new steering rack.
You get 3 unlocks initially when you buy LFS (be it either S1 or S2). You use 1 unlock to unlock the game for the first time after then you have 2 unlocks left, if say you reformat twice and unlock LFS both times, you won't have any unlocks left, however the next friday you'll get 1 unlock until you get your maximum of 2.
the game will keep giving you one unlock every friday until you have 2, then it will stop giving you them.
Same for me, I wouldn't want say, a 6 speed shifter in my F1 car. This game is all about realism and adding those sorts of things would make it less real as well as making the game potentially uneven for racers. ie BF1 with paddles and another with shifter.....go figure.
Though I think the FZR could do with some paddles since the XRR and FXR both have paddles.
