I have that kind of problem before sometimes.

Why not give a try for clear calibration then uninstall the v5.02 restart your PC then install the CD driver that is included with your MOMO Racing Wheel.

I tried using the v5.02 there's a bit difference when it comes to Damping, Spring FFB it is too sensitive centering sometimes too heavy. Then i tried clearing all the calibration and uninstall 5.02 then back to v4.40(my cd driver says i have a v4.40 driver)

Then it turns back to normal.

nice very nice... no more shortcutting in Blackwood Chicane part of Demo....
Penalty for short cutting is good. Coz you just need to pass thru pit lane @ the speed of not higher than 80km/h to complete your penalty. So it will just add some time/sec. for one lap

But if passing there and get spectated, its hard to join again the race.
For example:

a 10 lap race then passing at that short cut and you are at 5th lap and placing 2nd position and get spectated, man, its hard to join again the race coz the driver will begin at last position and start at the 1st lap all over again.

thats just my opinion..

EDIT: Just want to add this,

If He/She Driver/Racer passed to that chicane over and over again... then its time to give a 3rd offense in the race. 3rd offense is equal to spectate.
Coz sometime to be straight... noobs or lets say beginners and the one who discovers that chicane short cut in blackwood does the thing over and over again specially in Demo....

I hope Victor as the Dev will fix this permanently soon... Thanks Devs.

Ok I saw it now after reading the PDF...

But what i get after uploading it to a server host... the site goes like this. (see attachments pls.)

I got PHP error:

(Warning: fopen(/home/a2941323/public_html/data/timestamp.dat) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/a2941323/public_html/includes/lfsworld.php on line 200)

am I doin this right?

One more question: Do i need to start the home page as Index.php or is it ok to use a simple Index.html and dynamically attach the tracker index.php into Index.html?

Nice pre-cautions huh? I hope everybody can read this with using there Logitech Wheel's G25's , MOMO's RW FFBack's and other racing wheel.

Quote from srdsprinter :That's an idea, I hate my G25 does the same, spinning madly 1.5 rotation, SMASH, 3.0 rotation, SMASH! Its too expensive to be Smashing about like that!

From logitech's forums, one women was starting the pc, bent over, and the G25 took off madly spinning, catching her necklace in the shifters. Fortunately the necklace snapped, but it shows how dangerous that start-up calibration can be.

And about the Left to Center check, I think it is normal... but for the concern that it might have 3-5mm looseness of center and also what "srdsprinter" story... yes i'm also thinking about how to turn that off. But for me now all i can do with my MOMO RW FFB is to plug & unplug the USB after using it then put it in a safe place. Coz it is hard to save money for another racing wheel.

@Bladerunner:
Nice one you have lots of port forwarding, cool
Deejayyaj

Quote :PC1 - the main pc which i use to play lfs now has a rule to forward only port ranges 63392 to 63392 TCP/UDP and it can communicate to LFS on this port and the router directs all traffic to PC1

PC2- The pc which runs the dedi server and dedigui now has a rule to forward only port ranges 29339 to 29339 TCP

Thats it... for PC1 and PC2. Nice to know that you solved the problem.
29339 which will display your dedi server coz you use a router.
63392 which will communicate in your game play.

Hope it is running now. I'll do drop by your server host when I see it online Good luck serving, No problem about your questions.

Quote from Bladerunner :What he CANNOT do is connect to his own server via the internet

@Bladerunner:
I understand what is he trying to tell bout his prob.
Good to know that you are a Network Genius

Well in his case. for example:
In some users or server hosts is we mostly use direct connection like Modem to Internet so the Port is by default 63392 so automatically host will be in the LFS Master Server list. But in a router connection if we use 63392 we will be able to connect thru LAN but in Internet? we cannot. In able to see or connect your host in LFS Master Server in a routed we need to use a lower port like 29339. In this case we will now be able to see it in the LFS list.

Thats what I figured encountering this problem before. I tried it not once,twice or trice...

I have 4 routers.
  1. Dynex
  2. Motorola
  3. Linksys
  4. Belkins
and tried to experiment them all.

and it all works for me in a routed connection, using that configuration and just following those instructions in LFS Manual and Port Forwarding.

@CrazyICE: Thanks again for DediGUI, i tried it and it really works fine with me. very helpful

Quote :Tried all of that and still the same issue, i can connect on the LAN but not the on the multiplayer screen in LFS.

Ok forget about Alternating IP.. it will automatically generates value in that section.

Can you tell me the router you are using now?

and, Have you tried using the port at 29339?
or make a list like this in your Router Port Forwarding section.
  • TCP: 29339
  • UDP: 29339
  • TCP: 63392
  • UDP: 63392
here is what i did in Motorola Port Forwarding.

And following the answer in the LFS FAQ...
http://www.lfs.net/?page=faq&id=13

I want to run a host from behi ... ch port needs to be open?
"Answer to: I want to run a host from behind a firewall, router or connection sharing - which port needs to be open?: Live for Speed S2 hosts use TCP and UDP port 63392 by default, but when starting a host, you can enter any port (but be advised that some people only have the default ports open with their outbound blocking firewall). Some people have problems with high port numbers. They should try lower numbers, as some ISP's are blocking high ranges.
If your firewall or router also blocks outgoing packets, you should open port 29339 as well, which is used for host<->master communication. "

In my experienced, I tried using the TCP and UDP port 63392 as default before and it runs ok in LAN but in Internet LFS Master Server I also can't see my running host. So i use 29339... and tada! its on the list now...

Are you running a host using a router?

did you use the instruction in the Port Forwarding--> By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.1.1."
as indicated in the Port Forwarding instruction.
?

You can take a look at this post for Port Forwarding in router connection.

Now if you're having problem with the Dedicated Config.
just simply use the text editor to edit the configurations.

here is my simple config for routed connection:
Quote :
// Example host configuration file
// How to use: LFS /cfg=setup.cfg
// Lines starting with // are ignored

//Color Codes:
//^0 - Black
//^1 - Red
//^2 - Light green
//^3 - Yellow
//^4 - Blue
//^5 - Purple
//^6 - Light blue
//^7 - White
//^8 - Dark green (default)
//^9 - Original text colour and codepage.

// host name
/host=^1[TEST SERVER]

// optional: password
//pass=pass

// optional: admin password
/admin=adminpass

// optional: InSim port
/insim=29955

// optional: local specified ip address
//ip=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

// a high number below 65536 , 29339 ,63392
/port=29339 <<-- "If you are behind router, firewall setting or port router uses 29339"

// demo/s1/s2
/mode=S2

// no/yes/hidden
/usemaster=yes

make sure to use a "Alternative IP Setting"
(see photo image attached below)
To set this,
  1. 1) go to your connection setting click on your LAN Connection.
  2. property your TCP/IP and type in the config in "Alternate IP Configuration"
  3. Allow firewall blocking if it is ask.
