Quote from Starblue :Melbourne fastest laps:
http://www.fia.com/public/f1_media/aus09_race_laps.pdf

And a link to view all laptimes:
http://channelf1.net/timing.php

Using those laptimes, I tried to get a rough estimate of "race pace"... so I calculated the average of each driver's top 20 laps.

Best Top 20 Laps Average of each team:
Button 1:28,375
Vettel 1:28,486
Kubica 1:28,867
Robserg 1:29,105
Raikkonen 1:29,265
Trulli 1:29,571
Hamilton 1:29,668
Sutil 1:29,673
Alonso 1:29,704
Buemi 1:29,934

It looks like only RBR was really on BGP pace, and BGP didn't push on softs during the last stint.
Obviously a simple average like this cannot tell exactly team strenghts, but I think it gives an interesting overview of how teams performed on Melbourne.

Who's Robserg?

That would mean he would drive the car, he doesn't. He parks it in the garage, wanks into a pot of zymol and sticks his tiddler up it's exhaust every night.

Toyota's excluded from qualifying:

Quote :
Timo Glock and Jarno Trulli have been stripped of their grid positions for the Australian Grand Prix for a flexible wing infringement.
Glock had qualified sixth on the grid, with Jarno Trulli two places further behind, for their Toyota team at Albert Park.
However, following post-qualifying technical inspections by the FIA, it was found that the team's rear wing elements were in breach of the rules.
A statement issued by the FIA said: "The Stewards have received a report from the Technical Delegate that the upper rear wing elements of cars No. 9 and 10 are showing extreme flexibility in contravention of Article 3.15 of the 2009 Formula One Technical Regulations.
"The Stewards have heard the explanation from a representative of Panasonic Toyota Racing and have examined the cars in question.
"The Stewards concur with the opinion of the Technical Delegate and find the cars contravene the requirements of Article 3.15 of the 2009 Formula One Technical Regulations.
"It is the Stewards decision that cars number 9 and 10 be excluded from the Qualifying Session Official Classification."
Article 3.15 of the technical regulations states that wings must not have 'any degree of freedom' and 'remain immobile in relation to the sprung part of the car.'
The results mean that Trulli and Glock will start the race from the back of the grid.

You can tell there isn't much love lost between DC and Eddie. Eddie asked a question, coulthard was talking back to him - Eddie just started looking around at the scenery, so DC spent the rest of the time answering Eddie's question whilst looking at Humphreys - hahah, classic.

On another note, GWAN JENSON!!!

Quote from Intrepid :The cars look clumsy, disproportioned! *snip*

Hell, i could probably manage to just about bare the rear wing and slicks - if they just sort out the retarded looking front bumpers. The BMW especially, it looks like a bloody plaster board

Ahh, i see Quicksilver. I agree with your above comment about kimi - his lapped looked more like the kimi we're used to seeing.

Hoping the race is exciting, will we see much overtaking though? Cars are too fast?! Balls to small?!

It's weird though, watching hamilton in second practice on bbc i player, it just seems like he isn't really pushing at all?

He comes out of the last corner to start a "fast" lap, it's like he's not even trying to go fast. Goes nowhere near the kerb on the exit, he's virtually in the middle of the track. He weaves around on straights a few times during laps aswell. .

I'm still skeptical about mclaren, unsure wether we'll see them around the same positions in qualifying

what's the little spinning/rotating thing in the audi's cockpit, on the right hand side? I thought it might be throttle related, but sometimes it seems to move differently to the throttle input

They were talking about the firing order on eurosport, how the race bikes usually fire differently from the road going counterpart, but this time the firing order was passed down from the road going bike iirc.

Do you think this guy is doing a good thing, or profiting from others? I know it is probably really handy for a majority of people, but at the end of the day he is profiting from intellectual property that isn't his. Just shows people can, and will (i can see at least 2 people that paid for it) sell anything
