Get the Single exit stainless exhaust from mx5parts, really nice bit of metal for quite little money. The sound it creates is fantastic. Also has a proven 2hp gain.

Quote from S14 DRIFT :Technically I beat you so you're too late.

Let me refer you to post #5576

Might have to look quite closely

You are both so late, the sticker is now actually cringe worthy

My suggestion would be

http://www.modelsport.co.uk/hp ... ue-/rc-car-products/28745

HPI are great for both new/advanced users. The documentation they come with is great, and they have a large stocklist for replacing broken parts/pimping yo ride'

I absolutely love the IL-2 Series, however struggle to find the urge to play them (I think it's to do with the controls, joystick on desk is fail and akward.) Anyway, Pre-ordered.

Quote from TiJay :Falling into and living off 32k sounds alright!

That sounds pretty ideal in theory, long hours aren't a problem for him, 4 on 4 off would be perfect as weekends are busy and suck as days off anyway... What's the "starting" wage say for someone who's just done their HGV/would any company hire a "newbie"?

The company I work for will not employ somebody with less than 2 years driving experience (C+E), or with >6 points on their licence.

As a newbie, although most companies will want expeirence, there are businesses willing to employ new HGV drivers after a driving asssessment. The salary would not differ much from the above. However there are quite a few people wanting/trying for these jobs. So they generally have a high turnover of staff, with managers who will treat them like dirt, because they can.

Btw, the 4/4 shifts are rolling over 7 days, including bank holidays. Although bank holidays worked are repaid with lieu days.

I work in the transport industry as a supervisor, one of the contracts I control offer a HGV salary of £32kpa for a "4 on/4 off" shift pattern that consists of 12 hours each shift. Although shifts are generally 10 hours, which gives a worked average of around 36-39 hours per week.

I'd personally say that's not bad, however it would be easy to fall into and live off, sapping ambition.

Cheers,

Quote from pb32000 :ABS control unit failed, ECR failed, combined total for those to be replaced was £1500 (although I managed to get VW to come down to around £1000 with a free MOT and Air con recharge thrown in too).

Turbo is whining too which is very common on the GTTDIs, I will get it replaced at some point but you're looking at £300 for a second hand unit alone. Repairing the current one is just as much

The problem with these newer cars is that everything is so sealed up and such a bitch to work on you either spend days in the garage doing it yourself, or you pay through the nose to get someone else to do it. To even get to the turbo you have to remove the front subframe, so much effort!

edit: Mine had 30K on the clock when I bought it last year, the electronics problems just happen overnight

You should have bought an AA warranty. Although not a complete problem solver, it saved me about £140 in cost when my N/S electric window broke on my Ford Focus. The Warranty covered loads of other stuff, inc severe mechanical issues.

Quote from danthebangerboy :Set of new springs for the mazda, made by rokkor, and come from germany, dont know alot about the manufacturer, have found mixed reviews about them online, but for £28 for a set of 4 i dont see how i can really go wrong, a pair of 2nd hand rear springs (the ones i really need as mine are both snapped) would cost that if not more, plus these ones give a 40mm drop too, which will make it sit a little better without being stupidly low or bouncy bumpy, i hope, they may be that cheap for a reason, but for the money im gonna give em a go!

Just rokkor springs? with the little difference in cost between them and the coilovers (I paid £120ish for mine) you should've gone the whole hog. This is with the assumption that your dampers are 20 years old.
