i know in S1 (i've never used manual clutch in S2) if you hit the down change twice before hitting the clutch it would drop 2 gears when u did hit the clutch button.

I have this problem with the MS side-winder FFB wheel, and i think what Niki said is the cause. maybey the button contacts arnt as precise as the used to be. Unfortunalty, I have heard opening this wheel for maintenance is a real pain.

Only other real car id like to see is the Ariel Atom..

On a side note, I was wondering if any of the real cars featured in LFS have ever appeared (reviewed etc) on any TV shows such as Top Gear or 5th Gear?

I dont know about ATI (but im guessing its similiar), With Nvdia drivers you can set a Profile that relates to a particular .exe (lfs.exe). So every time you start that .exe your gfx settings are changed automatically for that game, when you exit the game your default settings are reverted.

The only reason i would like AA + AF supported in game is that some times when i Shift-F4, to check a website or somthing, and then go back to the game my AA + AF turn off and i have to restart the game.

I see what your saying, the inclussion of brake lights would only stop accidents in very specific situations. I guess i was just thinking of the times on Kyoto Ring in the FO8 when the lag makes cars do strange things at the start, some times you cant tell if a car has stopped because of lag (and will spring forward momentarily) or if hes braking to avoid going into the back of a slower starter in front (no lag). For that sort of situation a brake light would help. But an overal better fix would be removing the warping that occurs at the start of a 20 car race.

F1 cars do have a light at the rear, right ?

And despite reality, in a multiplayer game with all the lag and stuff, it might be important to actually have an extra visual indicator that the man in front of you is braking.

i like this idea, I mean, real f class racing cars dont have a horn . I think it would help with preventing online accidents

Yes, this seems like a really great idea. Fith Gear did a feature on it (Fifth Gear - [07x03] - 2005.04.04). I like the way all the cars are basically the same..pure driver skill is what counts, should make for some good races. I just hope they can generate enough attention.
Not sure about the Dubai track...lots of sand blowing around. could be interesting

I was just going to ask the same thing..I had to listen to it a couple of times. whats he getting at ?

Shame about the sound comments, not as bad as they make out, but i kind of agree. better engine sounds would really be the icing on the cake for me. Skids, wind, echo fx etc all sound great but the engines need some more "umph", and maybe some nicer crash sounds like metal buckling and glass breaking

I think we need more damage for the engine though. when people dont.

So far in S2 i have noticed no engine damage from over reving constantly, in S1 this used to have a noticable effect on the cars performance, and engine sound.

the default 60000.0 (i think), tried a very large number but i got like 4 fps when some one did a burnout lol, i like to have AA & AF so i wont be doing that again

Yeah , turned the mod off and went back to original , turns out i was imagining the amount of smoke that you got with unmodded S2. It makes sense that loose dirt would generate more dust than two smooth surfaces like tyre and road.

Great mod. I love the excitment of seeing "Yellow Flag" and belting through a giant zero visability dust cloud at 185mph on Kyoto Ring in an FO8

Any Idea what the setting in LFS might be? I have all settings maxed i think..

Im using the Smoke mod with the new textures, but I dont seem to be getting as much smoke on the tarmac as on the Dirt. A car has to pretty much do a standing burnout before i see any real smoke (but then there is lots and it looks nice), drfiting around a corner/locking up the tyres dosent seem to make any smoke at all. If a car goes slightly onto the dirt it kicks up alot of dirt though.

I have smokeDensity=6000.0

any ideas?

Woah, is this the new helo sim the Lockon guys are supposed to be working on next?

Looks very nice, we have been lacking a decent modern Helo War Sim lately.

Are there any servers setup that use the slick mod? Some of the cars are so much fun to drive with diff tyres. MRT Rally - this is a lot of fun. Also FZ5 and RA are great with slicks....Please some body set up a server

LFS Pit spotter is very cool. I wonder, could it be possible to include other Pit monitored voice alerts? Such as "Fuel Low", Tyre wear, puncture (probably dont need some one to tell you this, but would be fun ) etc?
