I've got some Ideas that i want to share and discuss.
looking at 2 races per evening, a short 15 minute race and a longer 30-45 minute race
The second race would be with a reverse grid, but the points for both races would be indentical. The bonus would be in the reverse grid race that every position you move up your gain extra points
Tracks i'm thinking about are (in no particular order)
Question - if you need to get through the nationals to get to the internationals and this is the first time running of the nationals how did the internationals gets to the internationals in the first place???
The top 10 have a one lap shootout - but the shoot out is one lap with their race fuel on board.
The drivers have there race fuel added and then they park at the END of the pit lane in reverse top 10 from Q2 order.
They turn their engines off and wait there with a team of 6 mechanics (4 with tyre warmers) one with a rear jack and one with a starter motor.
When its their turn they go out.... like when they use to do the single lap quali a few years ago (but this time its only the top 10, but with race fuel onboard) that can not be altered after the start of the final session.
points can always be scored - regardless of the number of racers, its just the stats of wins and podiums and fastest laps are not recorded with less than 4 racers in the race.
Actually i've just watched the replay of that race to see what all the fuss is about.....
Chano joins late after the start and Yeager to his credit asks for a restart (there is only a few drivers on the server)
Yeager then asks for about 10 restarts in about 7/8 laps.. during this time he is also racing and asks for a restart as 'they are not geting any points'
Yeager spins out a few times on his own (maybe his concentration is somewhere else) maybe hitting that restart bind
Anyhow Yeager then crashes in the pit lane and starts reversing up the pit lane before spinning around and stopping in a box...
at that point chano then exits the pits and promptly spins on his own at t1. He is almost stationary slightly off line on the right hand side..... yeagar comes around the corner and hits him at a slow speed (yeageer was on a bad line) if he was on the racing line chano would not have been hit.... (typical init) anyhow yeager taps chano... chano then types '?' as he does not know why he has been hit..... then later in the lap yeager (whilst driving) replies... as he does this his car weaves about and he fails to notice PACman coming up his out side and making a pass... yeager then cuts up PACman who then spins and crashes out in avoidance.....
are you just going to race with the 5 or 6 drivers that have signed up or will you have a 'only goes ahead' with more than 15 signups - and if you don't get the numbers to run it - people get a refund that may help you sway the un-decided to partake..
live streaming - does not affect the driver taking part
Commentary - does not affect the driver taking part
Some of the fastest LFS drivers - point taken - but this is just gonna lessen the sign up..... for instance if well known 'alein' drivers are entered that have a known pedigree in this class of racing are fast and consistant and do not crash, then why do the other drivers think they might actually stand a chance...
This league will just be like hour stints of an enduro race, there are one or two known drivers who if they entered (or weren't competing elsewhere) would clean up..
So the reason people should sign up is because there are fast drivers entered - well lots of other leagues have these drivers involved (and other fast drivers or clean drivers) were people don't have to pay to race..
how many leagues do you know where people drop out over the season as they realise they will not win?? i bet it's load's and that leagues that you don't even have to pay to enter in the first place..
Dumb question - but how can you say that with such a small number of drivers?
Surely you can say that AFTER the event - if it IS true..
What is SO special about this series compared to other leagues??
Its a bit like the previous month it was the 'world series' that was going to be the best league.... thing's like this can nto be said until after the event...
otherwise if your incorrect, and people have paid money to join the league - you could be reported to trading standards
I admire the jeeing up that you are trying to give this league, but it really is too little too late i think.
Rather than make first season free, you should be doing non-championship rounds prior to the start of the season, so people can enter and see what makes it so great... after all there are so many leagues out there that does not charge to enter... so this has to b a darn bit more special to make people pay to enter regardless of what 'prizes' are on offer..
