Quote from gezmoor :I see it very simply. As far as credit for winning races is concerned it comes down to this:

a) Driver can take credit for anything he does/doesn't do on the track.
b) Team takes credit for everything else.

So where does that leave Hamiltons win??

Well he crashed, and put himself a few places back. After that he at best matched the pace of the other quicker drivers. So that's an average, (maybe a bit above average) performance marred by a fairly fundamental mistake. That's got to score less than 5/10.

The team however, took a gamble and it paid off in that Hamilton didn't need to pit just to change tyres, as did the majority of the rest of the field. Team performance 8/10.

Conclusion. The team won the race not Hamiltons drive. If he hadn't had the good fortune, of his teams decision, to be able to make the tyre swap at the same time as fuel up for the last stint he would most likely have finished 4th at best, possibly even 5th.

There was one other contributing factor, which no one seemed to comment on on the day. That was the fact that the race was unduely held up behind the safety car for several more laps than it should have been as two drivers refused to unlap themselves. This significantly reduced the chances of the top drivers to gain on and overtake Hamilton, and also ensured that the race didn't go the full distance. Guess what teams those two drivers belonged to. Yep the same teams as the two front runners. Concidence? You decide.

can you please only post if your are going to either skin or say something useful

Um - something useful is - white and green looks alot better than green and black in my opinion - certainly with the fact that you want dunlop as a sponser on the car. Dunlop and GREEN and WHITE are sinonomus together - so actually I AM BEING helpful - I'm giving you ideas - afterall - you are wanting someone to skin an entire range of cars for you because you don't want to do it yourslef......

Quote from hotmail :

just some basic info, ctra is one of the best ways to start driving , you will get some racing , close racing and wreckers experance.
but dont forget that very body can blame eatch other so this can also work against you, just drive safe and drive cool. and the you will get used to the racing.

Hmmmmm

I think my Team mate means - go drive on the CTRA servers, its a good place to start and with the reporting function the racing should be of a good standard. Wrecking and wreckers there are not tolerated and people can raise reports to get incidences reviewed by admins to improve the level of racing on the server. You gain points for racing and you can use these to access higher tier servers that have different types of races available.

Grab a chair, get a coffee and your favourite cushion. This is going to be one long stay..... you are going to love it

First sensible thing you have written in your 7 LFS posts

you just need a stable setup and/or a driver that understands it.

One of the big things I have realised with enduro racing is people who think you can take a HL setup and just change the tyres - it doesn't work.

Also you have to see the car as a living being (with its tyres)

You can not go 100% immediately on a car on cold tyres - or judge the setpu based on a few installation laps when the tyres are too cold.

Quote from Gentlefoot :If you are looking for a setup because you are 6+ seconds off the World record then its not the set that is the problem.

A set will find you maybe a second or two but no more on most layouts.

Just read this thread.

Very sad for the Team and for all the drivers concerned - but you know - as they say when one door closes another opens.

Wish all the ex-team members of Adaptive Racing the very best for the future. All of you were good racers and a credit to the game and the community.

If any drivers do wish to remain in LFS then Concept would of course would be very keen to hear from you.

All the best for the future guys,

Dru.

I think this thread should remain on topic which is that this guy is looking at ways to improve his driving and get into a team.

O/T posts just make this task even harder.

Quote from thisnameistaken :IIRC he was running 2nd at the time.

Yup - but your missing the part where that was all done WITH traction control.

Show me him driving this years STR without Traction Control that well in the wet and I'd be the first to applaud him

I'm really excited about the prospect of a wet monaco with cars without traction control..... goes misty eyed and remembers Bellof and Senna 1984

Quote from niels1 :After some time off racing due to certain things it is time for me to resign from HR. Its a great bunch of guys together, that is when there together. Lack of interest and too much LFS, dumplings occured has put me off. I wish all remaining HR members a good time at HR. Very nice people. Goodby HR, thank you for the time I have spent there.

All the very best for the future in LFS and life Niels. You have been a great Ambassador for Halfords Racing and you will be surely missed by team and community if indeed this is the end of LFS for you.

Catch you round mate

Best Regards,

Teams are not just for 'pro's' tbh.

Teams are setup for various reasons, whether it be for common enjoyment, league activity etc etc

Anyhow, back on topic - you seem to drive/race FXR almost exclusivley - why not edit your post to reflect this.

Also edit it to mention whether or not you would be wanting or like to compete in league races or enduro events etc etc.

I remember the TRDT was looking for FXR drivers recently - why not approach them?

Getting into a team can be 'hard' to start with, after all, you could be the quickest guy in LFS but if you had a bad attitude then no one would want you in their team etc - or similalry you might be the nicest guy in the world but also slower than a UF1 in your FXR... so a balance has to be struck somewhere.

MY advice, edit your post to be more specific, also mention whethewr you have ventrillo or teamspeak, what your availability is etc etc and maybe someone will see it and offer you a test drive or just say' come check us out, come on our server XXX' etc etc

good luck in your search

Regards,

Dru.
